The Department of Zoology at Bahawalnagar Campus, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, was established in 2020 with the vision of providing quality education and promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community service in the biological sciences. The department offers BS Zoology (4-Years Program), BS Zoology (2-Years Program), and MPhil Zoology programs designed to prepare graduates with sound theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to address emerging biological and environmental challenges.
The department comprises qualified faculty members with expertise in diverse disciplines, including Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Entomology, Parasitology, Taxonomy, Evolution, Animal Physiology, Animal Behavior, Mammalogy, Vertebrate and Invertebrate Zoology, Conservation Biology, and related fields. Through modern teaching methodologies, field investigations, and research activities, the department strives to produce graduates capable of contributing effectively to academia, research organizations, government departments, wildlife conservation agencies, fisheries and aquaculture industries, healthcare sectors, environmental management organizations, and other biological sciences professions.
