About Us
The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar Campus, was established in 2020. The chemical processes and molecular mechanisms underpin all living organisms, bridging biology and chemistry to understand life at its most fundamental level. In the era of genomics and molecular sciences, biochemistry plays a central role in understanding the chemical basis of life, from biomolecules and metabolism to gene regulation and disease mechanisms.
The department offers BS Biochemistry (4 Years) and ADP Biochemistry (2 Years) programs in accordance with HEC guidelines. Teaching and training are imparted through the semester system, comprising Foundation, Allied, Major, and Elective courses along with Research Projects and Internships. Our graduates have excellent career opportunities in educational institutes, food and pharmaceutical industries, clinical laboratories, and research organizations.
