About Us
The Department of Zoology at Bahawalnagar Campus, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, was established in 2020 with the vision of providing quality education and promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community service in the biological sciences. The department offers BS Zoology (4-Years), Associate Degree of Zoology (2-Years), and MPhil Zoology(2-Years) programs designed to prepare graduates with sound theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to address emerging biological and environmental challenges.
The department comprises qualified faculty members with expertise in diverse disciplines, including Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Wildlife Biology, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Parasitology, Mammalogy, and related fields. Through modern teaching methodologies, field investigations, and research activities, the department strives to produce graduates capable of contributing effectively to academia, research organizations, government departments, wildlife conservation agencies, fisheries and aquaculture industries, healthcare sectors, environmental management organizations, and other biological sciences professions.

IUB Bahawalnagar Campus has operating to make the Department of Zoology bloom since its establishment in 2020. Our Department aims to shine in fundamental & superior research in the numerous disciplines of Zoology and to teach our youth in fascinating contemporary areas of science.

The Department of Zoology, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar Campus, aims to become a center of excellence in zoological education, research, and innovation. We envision producing knowledgeable, skilled, and responsible graduates who can contribute to science, society, and sustainable development. The Department seeks to promote quality education and research in zoology, biodiversity, wildlife, fisheries, aquaculture, and related biological sciences. Through quality teaching, meaningful research, innovation, collaboration, and community engagement, we aim to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly zero hunger (SDG 2), quality education (SDG 4), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), climate action (SDG 13), life below water (SDG 14), and life on land (SDG 15). The Department is committed to the conservation and sustainable use of biological resources and to contributing towards environmental protection, food security, and the socioeconomic development of Pakistan.
