The Islamia University of Bahawalpur initiated a chair to pay tribute to the services of His Highness Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi, the last ruling Nawab of Bahawalpur. This chair aims to organize conference and seminars and to acquire relevant literature, research material, belongings of the late Nawab and Princely State of Bahawalpur to save the history for next generations (Syndicate 75th Meeting, Item No. 15, January 2021).
The Sadiq Chair mission is to organize information and to make it universal and useful on the life of Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi and Bahawalpur State.
The Sadiq Chair is a platform for the scholars as well as for the general public. The fundamental function of this chair is to highlight the history of Bahawalpur with special reference to His Highness Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi the last ruling Nawab of Bahawalpur. So, the chair will only discuss the matters mentioned above in deep historic context. It will organize annual conference and seminars on the various aspects of life and services of Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi. It will also issue a research journal to facilitate the research work on Bahawalpur.

Honorary Director and Secretary Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi presented the agenda of the meeting and thanked all the participants for coming. It was decided at the meeting that one-year, two-year and five-year targets have been set through this chair to highlight the great national services rendered by Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi and other Nawabs.
