Directorate of Land Records

Land is basic need for establishment of University and its further development. Growth and expansion of a university depends mainly on availability of land. Furthermore, land is a precious asset for a university and one of key sources of revenue generation either by its utilization in the form of constructed area including academic buildings, research laboratories, offices, play grounds, student hostels, hospital, library, mosque, staff residencies, research farms, transport sheds, etc. or in the form of cultivated land. Illegal occupancy of University’s land is, therefore, a great loss to University’s exchequer. In this regard, it is inevitable to reinstate the University owned land from illegal occupants and recover the University’s sub-judice land in the court of law and acquire more state / private land to cater for future needs of land for extension of the University. Hence, the establishment of a dedicated Directorate of Land Records is in the foremost interest of the IUB.
