On the occasion of Defense Day, a special function was organized in IUB to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country

A special ceremony held in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country. On the occasion of Defence Day Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said in a message. We celebrate defence day as Pakistan Day. On this day, September 6, 1965, our brave forces crushed the evil intentions of the enemy. The special feature of the 1965 war was the spirit of ideal love of the Pakistan Army and the people of Pakistan. This love enabled us to defeat an enemy many times bigger than us. Today, there is crucial need to awaken and energize this spirit again. Pro-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar said that today reminds us of our martyrs and on this day the soldiers of Pakistan Army laid down their lives. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zahid Parvez Warraich said that we should all play an active role to fulfill their children's education and other needs. The war of 1965 was the first war of Pakistan in which the soldiers of the Pakistan Army gave their lives and this is still going on. We should take care of their families as much as possible. Focal person Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan, Chairman, Department of Media and Communication Studies gave the welcome speech and thanked all the guests. He said that Pakistan is still fighting an economic war and we all have to free Pakistan from this war. Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiq-ur-Rahman, Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning told about the high position of martyrs in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences paid tribute to the families of all the martyrs and highlighted the spirit of martyrdom and harmony among the students. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Abid, father of martyred Capt. Hassan Abid, said that Shaheed Capt. Hassan Abid was born in Bahawalpur, he got commission in Pakistan Army in 2002 and participated in many operations after PMA long course. . On January 8, 2011, he was martyred while fighting bravely in a battle and was awarded Basalat medal. Capt. Sohail Akbar's father Akbar Bhatti said that Capt. Sohail Akbar was born on December 11, 1979 in Bahawalpur and he got commissioned in Pakistan Army on October 14, 2001. He was an expert and experienced pilot in the Pakistan Army and he showed his bravery in Operation Al Mizan and Operation Rah Rast and flew the helicopter for 300 hours in these operations. On July 3, 2009, this iron man achieved martyrdom during a difficult and risky operation. In honor of his courage, steadfastness and professional skills, he was awarded the Basalat Medal. Wing Commander Khurram Samad's wife Shaista Khurram said that Wing Commander Khurram Samad was born on June 18, 1976 in Karachi and died in Pakistan in 1995. Commissioned at Air Force Academy Risalpur and posted at Mianwali where he mastered flying Miraj aircraft. On June 3, 2014, during a flight, his plane suffered from a technical problem and he was martyred saving the plane from falling on the population with great skill. In this way he saved the lives of hundreds of people. In recognition of their bravery and martyrdom, the sitare-e-Basalat was awarded to him. On this occasion, the students saluted the martyrs and veterans with special mime, national songs and sketches. The event was hosted by Agha Sadaf Mehdi, Senior Producer Campus Radio. Director, Information, Nasir Hameed, Former President of Press Club, Naseer Ahmad Nasir, Muhammad Munawar, Khabarin, Syed Ahmed Alam, Director of Arena Mall, Prof. Dr. Rao Imran, Chairman Department of Law, Shahzad Ahmad Khalid, Director Press Media and Publications, Arif Ramoz, Additional Registrar, Malik Imran Bhatta, Additional Registrar, Fatima Muzahir, Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, IUB Performing Art Society, Nazria-e-Pakistan Society, students, faculty members and officers participated in large numbers.

یوم دفاع پاکستان کے حوالے سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں شہدائے وطن کو خراج تحسین پیش کرنے کے لیے خصوصی تقریب منعقد کی گئی۔ وائس چانسلراسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹراطہر محبوب نے اس موقع پر اپنے ایک پیغام میں کہا کہ آج 6 ستمبر کا دن ہے اس دن کو ہم یوم پاکستان کے طور پر مناتے ہیں۔ اس دن 6ستمبر 1965 کے دن ہماری بہادر افواج نے دشمن کے ناپاک عزائم کو خاک میں ملا دیا تھا۔ 1965کی جنگ کی خاص بات افواج پاکستان اور عوام پاکستان کی مثالی محبت کا جذبہ تھا۔ اس محبت نے ہمیں اپنے سے کئی گنا بڑے دشمن کو شکست دینے کے قابل بنا دیا تھا۔ آج پھر سے اسی جذبے کو بیدار اور توانا کرنے کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔ پرووائس چانسلرپروفیسرڈاکٹر نوید اخترنے کہا کہ آج کا دن ہمیں اپنے شہداء کی یاد دلاتا ہے اور اس دن پاک فوج کے جوانوں نے اپنی جان کا نظرانہ پیش کیا۔ زاہد پرویز وڑائچ ڈپٹی کمشنر بہاول پور نے کہا کہ شہداء کی فیمیلز کا سوسائٹی کو مل کر خیال رکھنا چاہیے ان کے بچوں کی تعلیم اور دیگر ضروریات پوراکرنے کے لیے ہم سب کو بڑھ چڑھ کردار ادا کرنا چاہے۔ 1965کی جنگ پاکستان کی پہلی جنگ تھی جس میں پاک فوج کے جوانوں نے اپنی جان کا نظرانہ پیش کیا اور یہ سلسلہ ابھی تک جاری ہے۔ ہمیں چاہیے کہ ہم ان کی فیملیز کا زیادہ سے زیادہ خیال رکھیں۔ فوکل پرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹرعبدالواجد خان چیئرمین میڈیا اینڈ کمیونیکیشن سٹڈیز ڈیپارٹمنٹ نے خطبہ استقبالیہ دیا اور تمام مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان اس وقت بھی معاشی جنگ لڑ رہا ہے اور ہم سب کو ملکر پاکستان کو اس جنگ سے آزاد کروانا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شیخ شفیق الرحمن ڈین فیکلٹی آف اسلامک لرننگ نے قرآن و سنت کی روشنی میں شہداء کے بلند مقام کے بارے میں بتایا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی دین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے تمام شہداء کی فیملیز کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتے ہوئے طلباء وطالبات میں شہادت اور ہم آہنگی کے جذبے کواجاگر کیا۔ اس موقع پر شہید کیپٹن حسان عابد کے والد ڈاکٹرمحمد عابد نے خطاب کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ شہید کپیٹن حسان عابد بہاول پور میں پیدا ہوئے، انہوں نے 2002میں پاکستان آرمی میں کمیشن حاصل کیا اور پی ایم اے لانگ کورس کے بعد بہت سے آپریشنز میں حصہ لیا۔ 8جنوری 2011 میں انہوں نے ایک معرکے میں بہادری سے مقابلہ کرتے ہوئے شہادت پائی اور اُنہیں تمغہ بسالت عطا کیا گیا۔ کیپٹن سہیل اکبر کے والد اکبر بھٹی نے بتایا کہ کیپٹن سہیل اکبر 11دسمبر 1979 کو  بہاول پور میں پیدا ہوئے اور انہوں نے 14 اکتوبر2001میں  پاک  فوج  میں  کمیشن  حاصل  کیا۔  وہ پاک فوج میں ایک ماہر اور تجربہ کار پائلٹ تھے اور انہوں نے آپریشن المیزان اور آپریشن راہ راست میں اپنی بہادری کے جوہر دکھائے اور اِن آپریشنز میں ہیلی کاپٹر کو 300 گھنٹے محو پرواز رکھا۔ 3جولائی 2009کو ایک دشوار گزار اور پُر خطر آپریشن کے دوران اس مرد آہن نے شہادت کا اعزاز حاصل کیا۔ اُن کی ہمت، ثابت قدمی اور پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیتوں کے اعزاز میں اُنہیں تمغہ بسالت عطا کیا گیا۔ ونگ کمانڈر خرم صمد کی اہلیہ شائستہ خرم نے اظہار خیال کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ونگ کمانڈر خرم صمد 18جون 1976کو کراچی میں پیدا ہوئے اور انہوں نے 1995 میں  پاک فضائیہ اکیڈمی رسال پور میں کمیشن حاصل کیا اور میاں والی میں پوسٹنگ ہوئی جہاں پر انہوں نے معراج طیارہ اُڑانے میں مہارت حاصل کی۔ 3جون 2014 کو ایک برواز کے دوران اُن کا طیارہ تکنیکی خرابی سے دوچار ہو گیا اور اُنہوں نے کمال مہارت سے طیارہ کو آبادی پر گرنے سے بچاتے ہوئے شہادت پائی۔ اس طرح انہوں نے سینکڑوں لوگوں کی جان بچائی۔ اُن کی بہادری اور جواں مردی کے اعتراف میں ستارہ بسالت عطا کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر طلبا ؤطالبات نے خصوصی مائم، ملی نغموں اور خاکوں سے شہداء اور غازیوں کو سلام پیش کیا۔ تقریب کی میزبانی کے فرائض آغا صدف مہدی، سینئر پروڈیوسر کیمپس ریڈیو نے ادا کیے۔ تقریب میں ڈائریکٹر انفارمیشن ناصر حمید، سابق صدر پریس کلب نصیر احمد ناصر، محمد منورخبریں، سید احمد عالم ڈائریکٹر ارینا مال، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راؤ عمران چیئرمین شعبہ قانون، شہزاد احمد خالد  ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلکیشنز، عارف رموز  ایڈیشنل رجسٹرار، ملک عمران بھٹہ  ایڈیشنل رجسٹرار، فاطمہ مظاہر ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پبلک افیزز،آئی یوبی پرفارمنگ آرٹ سوسائٹی، نظریہ پاکستان سوسائٹی کے طلباء و طالبات، فیکلٹی ممبران اور افسران نے کثیر تعداد میں شرکت کی۔
