Bahawalpur (PR) In connection with the 100th anniversary celebrations of Islamia University of Bahawalpur, a special seminar was organised by the Seerat Chair to pay tribute to the first Sheikh-ul-Jamiah Hazrat Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus. The seminar, which was organized on the topic of the biography and the religious and academic services of the first Sheikh-ul-Jamiah of Jamia Abbasia Bahawalpur, Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi, was addressed by Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Brigadier (Retd) Abdul Qayyum, Moinuddin Junaid Golrawi, Professor Dr. Ghulam Naseeruddin Shibli, Professor Dr. Salim Tariq Khan, Former Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies Professor Dr. Sheikh Shafiqur-ur-Rehman and Director Seerat Chair Professor Dr. Hafiz Shafiqur-ur-Rehman.  In his address on this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, described Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi, the first Vice Chancellor of Abbasia University, as a great religious scholar, thinker, researcher and teacher of the Indian subcontinent. He said that Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi’s services in establishing and strengthening the Jamia Abbasia will always be remembered. The participants said that Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi was the custodian of the great academic and spiritual tradition of the Bahawalpur region, which is characterised by piety, sincerity and service to the people. He dedicated his life to promoting the education of the Quran and Sunnah, training students and raising religious awareness. He had an extraordinary passion for the Quran and Sunnah and his life aimed to promote and propagate religion. When Jamia Abbasia Bahawalpur was going through its initial period, the institution needed a leadership that had academic insight as well as religious commitment. The remarkable impact of Maulana Ghotvi’s services is that today Islamia University of Bahawalpur is considered one of the leading universities in Pakistan.  Islamia University of Bahawalpur is still a symbol of the fusion of religious and contemporary sciences, which is the result of the vision of Maulana Ghotvi. Its intellectual foundation includes commitment to the Quran and Sunnah, passion for research and moral training, and the intellectual legacy of this great Sheikh-ul-Jamiah. Maulana Ghotvi not only did this in a vacuum, but also gave a new dimension to the academic and religious identity of the university. The ceremony was attended by members of the family of Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Member Islamic Ideology Council Malikullah Bakhsh Kaliyar, Abdul Razzaq Shaiq, former President Bahawalpur Press Club Naseer Ahmed Nasir, senior columnist Anwar Grewal, heads of departments, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Dr. Ghulam Haider, Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Dr. Sajila Kausar, Director Public Relations, Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, dignitaries, teachers and students in large numbers.

بہاولپور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی 100 سالہ تقریبات کے سلسلے میں سیرت چیئر کے زیر اہتمام اولین شیخ الجامعہ حضرت مولانا غلام محمد گھوٹوی کو خراج تحسین پیش کرنے کے لیے خصوصی سیمینار غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال عباسیہ کیمپس میں منعقد کیا گیا۔ جامعہ عباسیہ بہاولپور کے پہلے شیخ الجامعہ مولانا غلام محمد محدث گھوٹوی کی سوانح دینی و علمی خدمات کے موضوع پر منعقد ہونے والے اس سیمینار میں وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، بریگیڈیئر (ریٹائرڈ) عبدالقیوم معین الدین، جنید گولڑوی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام نصیر الدین شبلی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلیم طارق خان سابق وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، ڈین فیکلٹی آف اسلامک اینڈ عربیک اسٹڈیز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شیخ شفیق الرحمن، ڈائریکٹر سیرت چیئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر حافظ شفیق الرحمن نے خطاب کیا۔ اس موقع پر اپنے خطاب میں وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے جامعہ عباسیہ کے پہلے وائس چانسلر مولانا غلام محمد گھوٹوی کو برصغیر پاک و ہند کا عظیم عالم دین مفکر محقق اور استاد قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مولانا غلام محمد گھوٹوی کی دین اسلام ختم نبوت اور جامعہ عباسیہ کے قیام اور استحکام میں خدمات کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھا جائے گا۔ شرکاء نے کہا کہ مولانا غلام محمد گھوٹوی خطہ بہاولپور کی اُس عظیم علمی و روحانی روایت کے امین تھے جو دینداری خلوص اور خدمتِ خلق سے عبارت ہے۔ انہوں نے اپنی زندگی قرآن و سنت کی تعلیم کے فروغ طلبہ کی تربیت اور دینی شعور اجاگر کرنے کے لیے وقف کر دی۔ انہیں قرآن و سنت سے غیر معمولی شغف تھا اور انکی زندگی کا مقصد ہی دین کی ترویج و اشاعت تھا۔ جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاولپور جب اپنے ابتدائی دور سے گزر رہی تھی تو ادارے کو ایک ایسی قیادت درکار تھی جو علمی بصیرت کے ساتھ ساتھ دینی وابستگی بھی رکھتی ہو۔ مولانا گھوٹوی کی خدمات کا سب سے بڑا اثر یہ ہے کہ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پاکستان کی ممتاز جامعات میں شمار ہوتی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور آج بھی دینی و عصری علوم کے امتزاج کی علامت ہے جو مولانا گھوٹوی کے ویژن کا نتیجہ ہے۔ اس کی فکری بنیاد میں قرآن و سنت سے وابستگی تحقیق کا جذبہ اور اخلاقی تربیت شامل ہے اور اس عظیم شیخ الجامعہ کی علمی میراث ہے۔ مولانا گھوٹوی نے نہ صرف یہ خلا پر کیا بلکہ یونیورسٹی کے علمی و دینی تشخص کو ایک نئی جہت عطا کی۔ نظامت کے فرائض ڈاکٹر قاضی حسین احمد مدنی نے سرانجام دیئے۔ تقریب میں مولانا غلام محمد گھوٹوی کے خاندان کے افراد، ڈین فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد امجد، ملک اللہ بخش کلیار، عبدالرزاق شائق ،سابق صدر بہاولپور پریس کلب نصیر احمد ناصر، سینئر کالم نگار انور گریوال، صدور شعبہ جات، ڈاکٹر عبدالغفار، ڈاکٹر غلام حیدر، ڈاکٹر ضیا ءالرحمان ،ڈاکٹر سجیلہ کوثر، ڈائریکٹر پبلک ریلیشنز ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد، عمائدین شہر، اساتذہ اور طلباوطالبات نے کثیر تعداد میں شرکت کی۔
