Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been declared as the first Hepatitis Free University of Punjab

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is the first Hepatitis Free University of the Punjab۔ The Governor Punjab Engr Muhmmad Baligh ul Rahman has praised the Vice Chancellor Engr.Prof.Dr.Athar Mahboob for making IUB hepatitus free University۔
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, in the year 2020 initiated large-scale hepatitis testing, screening and vaccination with the support of the Punjab Government Health Department. Initially, 22000 faculty , employees and students of the university were tested and the vaccination  was started. Today, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is the only university in Punjab which is a hepatitis free university. Governor Punjab Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur  was informed about the anti-hepatitis campaign conducted in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur during the last three years. On this occasion, it was informed that all the students are screened for hepatitis at the time of admission in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur all students, teachers and employees of the university are protected from this disease. The focal person of this campaign in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Medical and Health Division, Dr. Muhammad Usman Cheema, along with senior teachers and senior officials of the university, conducted this campaign. In this regard, the Governor Punjab has issued directives to all the universities of Punjab to take necessary steps to make hepatitis free universities following the successful model of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور پنجاب کی پہلی یونیورسٹی ہے جسے ہیپاٹائٹس فری یونیورسٹی قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے وژن کے مطابق سال 2020 میں محکمہ صحت حکومت پنجاب کے تعاون سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں بڑے پیمانے پر ہیپاٹائٹس ٹیسٹنگ، سکرینگ اور ویکسی نیشن کاآغاز کیا گیا۔ ابتداء میں جامعہ کے 22 ہزار اساتذہ، ملازمین اور طلباء وطالبات کے ٹیسٹ ہوئے اور ویکسین کا آغازہوا۔ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور پنجاب کی جامعات میں واحد یونیورسٹی ہے جو ہیپاٹائٹس فری یونیورسٹی ہے۔ گورنر پنجاب انجینئر محمد بلیغ الرحمن کچھ عرصہ قبل اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور تشریف لائے تو انہیں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں گزشتہ تین برس میں ہونے والی  انٹی ہیپاٹائٹس مہم کے بارے آگاہ کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر بتایا گیا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں داخلوں کے موقع پر تمام طلباء وطالبات کی ہیپاٹائٹس سکرینگ ہوتی ہے اوریونیورسٹی کے تمام 60 ہزار سے زائد طلباء وطالبات، اساتذہ اور ملازمین اس بیماری سے محفوظ ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں اس مہم کے فوکل پرسن چیف میڈیکل افیسر اور میڈیکل اینڈ ہیلتھ ڈویژن کے سربراہ ڈاکٹر محمد عثمان چیمہ نے یونیورسٹی کے سینئر اساتذہ اور اعلیٰ حکام کے ساتھ مل کر یہ مہم چلائی۔ گورنر پنجاب نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو پہلی ہیپاٹائٹس فری یونیورسٹی بننے پر مبارکباد دی۔ اس سلسلے میں گورنر پنجاب نے پنجاب کی تمام جامعات کو ہیپاٹائٹس فری جامعات  بنانے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات اٹھانے کے احکامات جاری کیے ہیں۔ گورنر ہاؤ س کی جانب سے جاری کیے گئے مراسلے میں پنجاب کی تمام سرکاری و نجی جامعات کو احکامات جاری کیے گئے ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر محمد عثمان چیمہ نے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی ہدایت پر پنجاب کی تمام جامعات میں ہیپاٹائٹس کنٹرول پروگرام کے تحت اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی طرز پر خصوصی مہم چلانے کی تجویز دی اور گورنرپنجاب کی ہدایت کی روشنی میں پنجاب کی تمام جامعات میں اس کا آغاز ہو گیا ہے۔
