Governor Punjab appreciated the role of Islamia University in making the movement of students safe and comfortable

Governor Punjab and Chancellor Engineer Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman praised the measures taken for the welfare of students and employees at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur during Governor’s visit to the University yesterday, he appreciated the addition of 10 new buses to the university transport fleet and lauded the Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and the Department of Transport for making the movement of students safe and comfortable. Giving a briefing on this occasion, Chief Transport Officer Khalil ur Rahman said that in the last three and a half years, University spent 550 million rupees from own resources for the purchase of new buses. The cost also included the purchase of 10 more buses and 2 coasters that will soon running in the university campuses. Additionally, in view of the increasing number of students, 20 buses have been procured from the market on rent. At present, 11 buses and 1 coaster in Rahim Yar Khan campus and 8 buses and 1 coaster in Bahawalnagar campus are providing travel facilities to employees and students, while 40 buses and 10 coasters are plying in Bahawalpur campus. In the last three and a half years, the university has also started bus service for the nearby towns of the campuses, which thousands of students have been saved from hostel and accommodation expenses, especially the female students who have a safe and comfortable travel facility in the evening after their academic activities. The bus services in the suburbs of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan are Sadiqabad, Kot Mithan, Khanpur, Manchanabad, Haroonabad, Hashilpur, Khairpur Tamiwali, Lal Sohanra, Yazman, Ahmedpur Sharqiaand Lodhran are included.

گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر انجینئرمحمد بلیغ الرحمن نے گزشتہ روز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں طلباء و طالبات اور ملازمین کی فلاح و بہبود کے لیے کیے گئے اقداما ت کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے یونیورسٹی ٹرانسپورٹ فلیٹ میں 10 نئی بسوں کے اضافے کی تعریف کی۔ طلبا کی آمد و رفت کومحفوظ اور آرام دہ بنانے پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب اور شعبہ ٹرانسپورٹ کو سراہا۔ اس موقع پر بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے چیف ٹرانسپورٹ آفیسر خلیل الرحمن نے بتایا کہ گزشتہ ساڑھے تین برسوں میں ٹرانسپورٹ فلیٹ کے لیے نئی بسوں کی خریداری کی مد میں 55 کروڑ روپے (550 ملین) اپنے وسائل سے خرچ کیے۔ اس میں تقریبا 20 کروڑ روپے کی لاگت سے  مزید 10 بسوں اور 2 کوسٹروں کی خریداری بھی شامل ہے جو جلد ہی یونیورسٹی کیمپسز میں رواں دواں نظرآئیں گئیں۔ مزید برآں طلباء و طالبات کی بڑھتی ہوئی تعداد کے پیش نظر 20 بسوں کو مارکیٹ سے رینٹ پر حاصل کیا گیا ہے۔ اس وقت رحیم یار خان کیمپس میں 11 بسیں اور 1 کوسٹر اور بہاولنگر کیمپس میں 8 بسیں اور 1 کوسٹر ملازمین اور طلباء و طالبات کو سفری سہولتیں فراہم کر رہی ہیں جبکہ بہاول پور کیمپس میں 40 بسیں اور 10 کوسٹر چل رہی ہیں۔ گزشتہ ساڑھے تین برسوں میں یونیورسٹی نے کیمپسز کے نواحی قصبہ جات کے لیے بھی بس سروس شروع کی جن کی بدولت ہزاروں طلباء وطالبات ہاسٹل اور رہائشی اخراجات سے بچ گئے خصوصا طالبات جو اپنی تعلیمی سرگرمیوں کے بعد شام کو محفوظ اور آرام دہ سفری سہولت کی بدولت اپنے گھروں کو لوٹ جاتی ہیں۔ بہاول پور، بہاولنگر اور رحیم یار خان کے جن نواحی قصبہ جات میں بس سروس جاری ہے ان میں صادق آباد، کوٹ مٹھن، خان پور، منچن آباد، ہارون آباد، حاصل پور، خیر پور ٹامیوالی، لال سوہانرہ، یزمان، احمد پور شرقیہ، مسافر خانہ اور لودھراں شامل ہیں۔
