Dr. Hannan Khan Tareen combines extensive professional field experience with a strong academic background. As a dynamic academic professional, he currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Media and Communication Studies, Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan, and as a Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication Studies at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

His career began in the media, where he excelled as a News Reporter at Geo News, a Non-Linear Editor at Samaa News, and a Sub-Editor at Daily Khabrain Newspaper. Transitioning to the public sector, he played pivotal roles in the Public Relations Office of Autonomous Govt Authority Multan. He earned his BS and MPhil from the IMCS at BZU Multan and a PhD from the DMCS at IUB. He also completed his Bachelor of Education from AIOU, Islamabad.

His research focuses on quantitative methodologies, political communication, and the psychological effects of social media. As Senior Producer (Additional Charge) in the Directorate of TV and Digital Media Studio at IUB, he oversees impactful media content production. Driven by a passion for education, research, and media production, Dr. Tareen aims to bridge theory and practice, equipping students and audiences for today’s media landscape.
