About

Dr. Umer Farooq is a veterinary graduate (DVM) with his PhD in Physiology. His PhD research involved the highlighting of a formerly neglected indigenous Cholistani breed of cattle being reared by the desert dwellers of Cholistan desert, Pakistan through the study on assessment of their various performance traits. Furthermore, he has an extensive work on haematochemical profile of various livestock of the desert (Camels in specific) and is a strong campaigner of conservation/propagation of indigenous livestock of an area as the basic tool for poverty alleviation. He has many international and national publications to his credit.
