An agreement has been signed between the IUB and the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China.

An agreement has been signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, People's Republic of China, to establish a Sino-Pak Joint Laboratory for the promotion of modern agriculture based on scientific technology. The agreement was signed by the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, and the President of the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chang Hong. The formal signing ceremony of the agreement was held through a video link. It was agreed by both sides that cooperation in agricultural research will be promoted so that sustainable agricultural technology can be promoted by producing high-quality and productive crops. Similarly, agricultural development should be carried out by ensuring environmental protection by effectively utilising agricultural resources, scientific research, and developing a workforce with innovative capabilities. Both universities will work to prepare technical, advisory and competent manpower for the promotion of the agricultural industry in their areas. In this regard, there will be a mutual exchange of teachers, researchers and students, joint research projects, conferences, seminars and sharing of resources. Professor Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Dr. Qaiser, Professor Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha and Professor Dr. Muhammad Nafees were present on the occasion. Professor Dr. Abid Shahzad, Director International Linkages, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, informed about the existing teaching and research links between the two universities. On this occasion, the key role of Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza in promoting an agreement has been signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, People's Republic of China, to establish a Pak-China Joint Laboratory for the promotion of modern agriculture based on scientific technology.
