Profile Summary

My current research is focused on better understanding of the physiological limitations to productivity of different field crops under various abiotic stresses. One goal of my research is to identify the morphological/physiological and biochemical characteristics that can impart enhanced tolerance of abiotic stresses such as drought, salinity and excessive heat. Identify potential environmental limitations of new, alternative, and traditional crops and characterize physiological mechanisms of acclimation and tolerance of these crops to environmental stresses. To develops new and alternative crops and cropping systems for the yield enhancement of Pakistan. Overall goal is to increase efficiency and economic returns of cropping systems in the Pakistan.
