About Me
Dr. Muhammad Sumair Zahid is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of English Linguistics. He earned his PhD in Applied Linguistics from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB). He also completed his MPhil in English Linguistics from the same institution. He holds the BS degree in English Linguistics and Literature from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
He has served as a Lecturer in several public and private sector institutions across Punjab, Pakistan. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has been actively involved in organizing national and international conferences, colloquies, seminars, and webinars under the patronage of Dr. Riaz Hussain, Chairperson of the Department of English Linguistics, IUB, from 2019 to 2025. He has successfully supervised more than 10 MPhil research scholars, and currently 5 MPhil scholars are completing their research theses under his supervision. He has published 8 research papers in national and international HEC-recognized journals.
His research interests include Corpus Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Stylistics, Language Testing and Evaluation, Computer-Assisted Language Teaching (CALT), Applied Linguistics, and English Language Teaching (ELT).
In addition, he has served as Incharge of Student Affairs, Incharge of Alumni Affairs, and Incharge Examiner for ADP Program. He has also remained the Departmental Focal Person for the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Youth Laptop Scheme.
