About Me
I am an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Institute of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (IBBB), The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. My research focuses on investigating molecular mechanisms involved in cancer progression, and drug resistance and discovery of diagnostic & prognostic biomarkers of cancer through integrative experimental and bioinformatics analyses. My laboratory is has well established molecular analysis facilities. Although majority of my work is based upon cancer biomarkers, several projects related to other diseases including diabetes, arthritis, & asthma. I have published more than 55 research articles in international impact factor journals (IF ~175) and supervised 75 MS and 10 PhD students in the fields of molecular biology, cancer genomics, and biochemical analysis. My research projects have been supported by competitive research grants funded by organizations such as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and Pakistan Science Foundation. My goal is to advance molecular and translational research to improve understanding of disease mechanisms and evaluation of genetic alterations as diagnostic / prognostic biomarkers of diseases.
