About Me
Prof. Dr. Sajid Hameed obtained degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and M.Sc. (Hons.) are from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan and PhD is from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan.
He started his professional career as Veterinary Office in Livestock and Dairy Development Department (L&DD) of Punjab Government. In 2007, he joined University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) as Lecturer, In 2011, he was appointed as Assistant Professor. In 2019 as Associate Professor and in 2022 as Professor of Anatomy and Histology. Currently, he is working as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anatomy and Histology. He also headed another department, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health as a Chairman for a tenure of 03 years.
As he joined University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, IUB at its beginning in 2007. So, he participated in various developmental activities like the development of veterinary clinics, livestock farms and laboratories as per requirement of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) for running DVM program. He also worked for short courses in collaboration with Cholistan Development Authority and Punjab Skills Development Fund.
He has also worked as Principal, University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences for the period of one and half year during 2019 and 2020. During his tenure as Principal, he upgraded the College into Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and established 13 new departments. He also started four new undergraduate programs. During that period, he also worked on MPhil curriculum and got approve from university bodies for the start of MPhil program in nine departments of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
As for as his research work is concerned, he published many research papers in national and international journals. He presented research papers in various national / international conferences. He has completed 2 HEC funded projects as Principal Investigator and one PARB funded project of 48 million as Team Scientist on camel. He completed 06 professional short training courses from different countries; Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Turkiye.
He is teaching courses of DVM and postgraduate program in the Department of Anatomy and Histology

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
