About Me
Dr. Safia Siddiqui is a teacher of English Literature, with a PhD specializing in Postcolonial Studies. She is an active member of the Departmental Research Committee and serves as the Coordinator of the PhD Programme in the Department of English Literature, where she contributes to research development, postgraduate supervision, and the academic growth of emerging scholars.
Her scholarly interests encompass Literary Theory, with a particular inclination towards Feminist Postcolonialism and Hauntology. Her research engages critically with the cultural, historical, and financial disparities that shape societies and examines the complex relationship between literature, history, power, identity, and lived experiences.
Beyond academia, Dr. Siddiqui is also an accomplished freelance journalist, with her articles published in leading Pakistani newspapers, including Dawn and The Express Tribune. With a dozen research papers published in HEC-recognized journals, her academic journey reflects a sustained commitment to connecting literary scholarship with the larger questions of history, culture, gender, inequality, memory, and power, making her work relevant not only to literary studies but also to broader debates about society and human experience.
