About Me
Dr. Muhammad Saeed Sheikh is an Associate Professor of Islamic Studies, HEC Approved PhD Supervisor, and Chairman of the Department of Fiqh and Shariah at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
His academic interests lie at the intersection of Qur’anic Studies, Seerah, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, Sufism, and contemporary Islamic thought. His research explores how the intellectual and ethical foundations of Islam can contribute to addressing modern social, legal, and civilisational challenges. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributed to academic books, and presented his research at national and international conferences.
In addition to his research, Dr. Sheikh has extensive experience in university teaching, postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, and academic leadership. He has served in several administrative roles, including Faculty Coordinator, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, and Advisor to the University's Qiraat and Naat Society.
His scholarly contributions have been recognised through the National Seerat Award (Government of Pakistan, 2015) and the Provincial Seerat Awards (Government of Punjab, 2024 and 2025).
Dr. Sheikh is committed to fostering rigorous scholarship, critical inquiry, and meaningful engagement with the Islamic intellectual tradition while encouraging its constructive relevance to contemporary academic and societal discourse.
