About Me
I am an Associate Professor of Urdu and Iqbaliyat at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, with over twenty-six years of experience in teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, and academic administration. I hold an M.A. in Urdu (1999 BZU Multan), M.Phil. in Urdu and Iqbaliyat (2005 IUB Bahawalpur), and Ph.D. in Urdu and Iqbaliyat (2016 IUB). I completed my Postdoctoral Research in Iqbal Studies in 2025 at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature, University of the Punjab.
My principal areas of scholarly interest include the Urdu Novel, literary criticism, linguistics, modern Urdu poetry, and Iqbal Studies. My first book, “Urdu Novel:Jadediat ky Tanazur Main”, was published in 2023. My second book “Jadeed Novellati Parhat” is in the final stage of publication. I have published 24 research articles in HEC-recognized journals and have presented research papers in more than 20 national and international conferences.
I have supervised six Ph.D. scholars and 34 M.Phil. scholars to completion, while four Ph.D. scholars are currently working under my supervision. In addition to teaching and research, I contribute to academic administration as a member of the Faculty Board and Board of Studies, Coordinator of Postgraduate Classes, and Deputy Director, Student Affairs, Faculty of Arts and Languages.
My scholarly approach is interdisciplinary, informed by literature, history, culture, philosophy, psychology, and linguistics. I am particularly interested in exploring Urdu literature within its wider intellectual, social, cultural, and philosophical contexts.
