About Me

I am Dr. Fatima Ismail, serving as an associate professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the Institute of Biochemistry, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, and The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. My academic foundation spans biochemistry, microbiology, and mycology, with a specialized research focus on antibiotic resistance mechanisms, biofilm formation, microbial enzymes, and environmental biotechnology. I earned my PhD in Antifungal Drug Resistance from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS, Beijing), supported by the prestigious UCAS President Fellowship and the HEC Foreign Study Support Program.Over the course of my career, I have supervised 35 MS scholars and 1 PhD scholar, contributing to the training of future scientists.I havepublished a portfolio of research articles in microbiology, mycology, and biotechnology journals.I have established national and international collaborations on projects involving enzyme technology, microbiome research, and antibiofilm strategies. My work integrates molecular approaches with applied biotechnology, advancing both academic and translational research.
