About Me
Prof. Dr. Areeba Khan is a distinguished academic, researcher, and higher education leader with over 23 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and institutional development. She is a Professor of Finance and an HEC-approved Ph.D. Supervisor at the Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, where she also serves as Director of Financial Assistance, Director of the Centre for Financial Literacy, and Director of the Centre for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination. She has also served on Syndicates of Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Thal University Bhakkar.
Holding a Ph.D. in Finance from University Putra Malaysia and a Master's degree in Financial Management from Durham University, UK, Prof. Khan has established an outstanding record of academic excellence, research leadership, and institutional service. Her expertise spans strategic finance, Islamic finance, microfinance, financial inclusion, corporate governance, behavioral finance, and sustainable development.
Prof. Khan has published more than 30 peer-reviewed research papers, including several in Q1-indexed international journals, and has successfully supervised Ph.D. and postgraduate research scholars. As Principal Investigator of an HEC-funded NRPU research project on microfinance addiction, she has contributed to evidence-based policymaking and the advancement of financial literacy and inclusive finance in Pakistan. She has also played a leading role in establishing academic programs, organizing international conferences, strengthening university–industry linkages, and fostering national and international collaborations.
Recognized for her strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and commitment to academic excellence, Prof. Khan continues to champion innovation in higher education, research, governance, and community engagement, making significant contributions to institutional development and the promotion of sustainable socioeconomic progress in Pakistan.
