About Me
I currently hold the position of Associate Professor in Physics at the Institute of Physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. My academic journey at this institution began in 2006 when I joined as a Lecturer, and I subsequently advanced to the role of Assistant Professor. In 2014, I achieved a significant milestone by receiving the prestigious Schlumberger Foundation Award, specifically the Faculty for the Future (FFTF) fellowship for post-doctoral research at the University of Dundee in Scotland, UK. Notably, this distinction places me among the select group of 22 women in Pakistan who have been honored with this esteemed fellowship. As an active member and dedicated alumna of the Schlumberger Foundation, I am deeply committed to advancing opportunities for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. To further this commitment, I have taken the initiative to establish a "Women in STEM" center at my university. This center serves as a pivotal platform, enabling females to foster their careers in the domains of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Beyond my academic and research roles, I also shoulder various administrative responsibilities. These include Incharge of students' affairs, Incharge of Examinations, contributing as a member of the Board of Study, and actively participating in curriculum development committees. My multifaceted engagement underscores my dedication to advancing education, particularly for women in STEM, and enhancing the overall educational experience at my institution. Furthermore, I am actively working towards establishing collaborations between hospitals and universities conducting research in the field of medical physics and related areas. These collaborations are envisioned to facilitate the exchange of resources and enable the provision of cutting-edge treatments to cancer patients, thereby contributing to advancements in healthcare.

1. PAK-UK Gateway Mobility Partnership for Faculty

The Pak-UK Education Gateway Programme provided excellent support, aligning well with our research goals and institutional objectives. It facilitated valuable collaborations, offered access to advanced research facilities, and fostered international connections. Communication was clear and timely, enhancing the overall experience. The program positively impacted both faculty and students, expanding networks and opportunities. However, additional time for lab exploration and more tailored guidance for new participants could improve the experience further.
2. Volumetric Assessment of Breast Density Using MRI: A Feasibility Study

In recognition of my postdoctoral research potential, I was honored with the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Award, securing a competitive research grant of $46,000 to conduct advanced research at Ninewells Hospital, University of Dundee. I am proud to be one of only 22 women in Pakistan to receive this distinguished fellowship.
3. Various Aspects of Gel Dosimetry as a ThreeDimensional Technique for Conformal Radiotherapy
With: Higher Education Commission (2006-12 - 2007-07)
I was honored with a fellowship named the "International Research Support Initiative Program”, granted by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2007. This opportunity enabled me to engage in experimental research at Ninewells Hospital, University of Dundee, where I meticulously crafted a gel phantom to mimic human body soft tissue. This phantom was subjected to radiation and subsequently examined using MRI scanning techniques to measure the exact absorbed dose.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
