About Me

Dr. Muhammad Abbas Abbasi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, serving on the faculty since 2007. He holds a PhD in Control Systems from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). His core research lies at the intersection of traditional control engineering and artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on model predictive control (MPC), reinforcement learning, and the application of agentic AI within dynamic systems.

As the founder and Lab Lead of the DeepEmbed AI Lab at IUB, Dr. Abbasi is dedicated to equipping engineering students with applied machine learning skills. He frequently teaches core courses, including Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Robotics. Through DeepEmbed, he has also established a specialized Certificate in AI program. Driven by a commitment to practical engineering, Dr. Abbasi actively engages in applied industry research—spanning computer vision to wireless sensing—aiming to bring real-world context directly into his classroom and laboratory.
