About Me
Dr. Owais Shafique is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, and and dedicated advocate for sustainable socio-economic development and social change. He is an Assistant Professor currently serving as In-charge of the Department of Islamic and Conventional Banking within the Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Pakistan. His work operates at the intersection of ethical banking, financial technology, sustainable socio-economic development, and artificial intelligence applications through empirical research, institutional leadership, and academic mentorship.
Academic Background
Dr. Shafique holds an international academic pedigree. He completed Post-Doctoral studies in Organizational Leadership (concentrating in Entrepreneurial Leadership) at Regent University, Virginia, USA, and earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (specializing in Finance) from Asia e University, Malaysia, where his doctoral thesis investigated micro-credit financing, poverty eradication, and women's empowerment. Demonstrating a lifelong commitment to scholastic excellence, he secured First Position in his MBA (Finance) at the Virtual University of Pakistan, earned his BBA (Hons) in Finance from IUB, and is an alumnus of Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur, where he was awarded "Academic Excellence". Expanding his technical capability, he is also completing a BS in Software Engineering at the Virtual University of Pakistan, focusing on machine learning-based decision-support systems.
