Profile Summary

Dr. Owais Shafique is an accomplished academic leader, global researcher, and dedicated advocate for social change. He currently serves as the In-charge and Assistant Professor in the Department of Islamic and Commercial Banking within the Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Pakistan.

Dr. Shafique boasts an elite, multi-continental academic pedigree. He completed his Post-Doctoral studies in Organizational Leadership (with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership) from Regent University, Virginia, USA. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (specializing in Finance) from Asia e University, Malaysia. Demonstrating a lifelong commitment to academic excellence, he secured the First Position in his MBA (Finance) from the Virtual University of Pakistan, earned his BBA (Hons) in Finance from IUB, and is an alumnus of the prestigious Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur, where he was awarded "Academic Excellence."

As a forward-thinking scholar, Dr. Shafique’s research interests lie at the intersection of financial systems and societal progress. His empirical and applied research focuses on Islamic Banking and Finance, FinTech, Behavioral Finance, Sustainable and Green Finance, Micro-finance, Financial Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Guided by a profound commitment to serving humanity, his ultimate academic mission is to leverage innovative financial modeling and entrepreneurial leadership to drive global solutions for poverty alleviation, climate change mitigation, Financial Inclusion through FinTech, women's empowerment, educational access, and world peace.
