Profile Summary

Ghulam Mustafa received a Ph.D. (2004) in mathematicsfrom the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), P. R. China,sponsored by the Cultural Exchange Scholarship of China. He also visited,School of Mathematical Sciences, USTC in 2010 to do collaborative researchunder the "Pakistan Program for Collaborative Research-Foreign Visit of aLocal Faculty Member." In 2011, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship atDurham University, UK, funded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities,UK. He was a visiting fellow at the University of Science and Technology ofChina from 2013–2014, sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He has been Professor of Mathematicsand Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics at The Islamia University ofBahawalpur, Pakistan, since 2016. He is the organizer of national andinternational conferences, webinars and the Mathematical Olympiad. He haspresented articles at national and international conferences.

He has completed two research projectssponsored by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan under the"National Research Program for Universities (NRPU)". He is thesupervisor and mentor of the research project for the Science Talent FarmingScheme (STFS), sponsored by the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).

He has served and continues to serveas a chairman or member of various university councils, boards, and committees,including the senate, the finance and planning committee, the academic council,the advance studies and research board, the affiliation committee, the appealcommittee for appeals to cases of indiscipline and misconduct-regulatory, theboard of studies, the board for the management of group insurance funds, andothers.

Heis the author of the book titled "Subdivision its applications in solidmodeling and signal compression".  It was published by VDM Verlag in2010. He is also the author of the book titled "Memories and achievementsof the Department of Mathematics, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur,Pakistan, from 1979-2021". It was published by The Islamia University ofBahawalpur. He authored a book titled "The 20-Year Journey of the Computer-Aided Geometric Design Research Group in Pakistan." It was published on January 5, 2024.

He has published more than 120 research papers. He hassupervised 11 PhD and 72 M.Phil. scholars up to now. He also serves as aneditor, an associate editor, a leading guest editor of the journals, and areviewer. He is a reviewer of PhD and M.Phil. theses from differentuniversities. His research interests include geometric modelling, subdivisionschemes, applied approximation theory, the solution of differential equations and Fuzzy graph.
