Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur today along with a delegation. He emphasized on mutual cooperation of universities for high quality of research and teaching. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has made extraordinary development and expansion in the past years. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has shown extraordinary performance in every department. New programs launched especially in line with the market needs, such as Nursing, Allied Health Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, are a reflection of their excellent vision for the development of this area. He appreciated the research activities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the field of agriculture, especially in the field of food security, and the collaboration at the national and international level. On this occasion, he shed light on the steps taken in the University of Karachi. He said that for high quality education and teaching in universities, connections and cooperation with international institutions are very important and in this regard agreements have been made with the best universities of different countries. He said that academia and industry linkages are also very important so that students can get better job opportunities and the industry can also benefit from the research done in the university. Emphasizing on the faculty development program, he said that the faculty development program is very important for increasing the efficiency of the faculty and the University of Karachi is giving full emphasis to it. Prof. Dr. Raees Muhammad Akhtar, Chairman Medical Laboratory Technology gave a briefing to the Vice Chancellor University of Karachi. On this occasion, Dr. Shahzad Ali Gill informed about the establishment of Public Administration Department in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the ongoing teaching activities in it and said that more than 350 students are studying BS and MS in Public Administration in the Islamia University Bahawalpur. Director Press Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid said on this occasion that in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, curricular and co-curricular activities have been given full attention. According to the vision of the Vice Chancellor, student societies have been established to highlight their leadership skills. Similarly, Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival and Bahawalpur Trade Fair are two such initiatives of Islamia University Bahawalpur which have become the identity of Bahawalpur at the international level along with improving the soft image of Pakistan.

وائس چانسلر یونیورسٹی آف کراچی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر خالد محمود عراقی نے آج ایک وفد کے ہمراہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کا دورہ کیا۔ انہوں نے تحقیق و تدریس کے اعلیٰ معیار کے لیے جامعات کے باہمی تعاون پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے گزشتہ برسوں غیر معمولی ترقی و توسیع کی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی قیادت میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے ہر شعبے میں غیر معمولی کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کیا ہے، خاص طور پر مارکیٹ کی ضروریات سے ہم آہنگ شروع کیے گئے نئے پروگرام جن میں نرسنگ، الائیڈ ہیلتھ سائنسز اور آرٹی فیشل انٹیلیجنس جیسے پروگرام اس علاقے کی ترقی کے لیے ان کے بہترین ویژن کا مظہر ہیں۔ انہوں نے زراعت کے شعبے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی تحقیقی سرگرمیوں خصوصاً فوڈ سیکورٹی کے سلسلے میں قومی اور عالمی سطح پر اشتراک عمل کو سراہا۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے یونیورسٹی آف کراچی میں کیے گئے اقدامات پر تفصیلی روشنی ڈالی ۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یونیورسٹیوں میں اعلیٰ معیار تعلیم اور تدریس کے لیے بین الاقوامی اداروں سے روابط اور اشتراک بہت ضروری ہے اور اس سلسلے میں مختلف ممالک کی بہترین جامعات سے معاہدے کیے گئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اکیڈمیا اور انڈسٹری لنکجز بھی بہت ضروری ہے تاکہ طلباء و طالبات کو بہتر ملازمتوں کے مواقع میسر ہو سکیں اور انڈسٹری بھی یونیورسٹی میں ہونے والی تحقیق سے مستفید ہو سکے۔ انہوں نے فیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام پر زور دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ فیکلٹی کی استعداد کار میں اضافے کے لیے فیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام بہت ضروری ہے اور یونیورسٹی آف کراچی اس پر بھرپور زور دے رہی ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر رئیس محمد اختر چیئرمین میڈیکل لیبارٹری ٹیکنالوجی نے وائس چانسلر کو بریفنگ دی۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر شہزاد علی گل نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں شعبہ پبلک ایڈمنسٹریشن کے قیام اور اس میں جاری تدریسی سرگرمیوں سے آگاہ کیا اور بتایا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں شعبہ پبلک ایڈمنسٹریشن میں 350 سے زائد طلباء و طالبات بی ایس پبلک ایڈمنسٹریشن اور گورننس میں بی ایس اور ایم ایس کی تعلیم حاصل کر رہے ہیں۔ ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلکیشنز شہزاد احمد خالد نے اس موقع پر بتایا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں نصابی اور ہم نصابی سرگرمیوں پر بھی بھرپور توجہ دی گئی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر کے ویژن کے مطابق طلباء و طالبات سوسائٹیز قائم کی گئی ہیں تاکہ ان کی قائدانہ صلاحیتیں اجاگر ہوں۔ اِسی طرح بہاولپور لٹریری اینڈ کلچرل فیسٹیول اور بہاولپور ٹریڈ فیئر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے دو ایسے اقدامات ہیں جو پاکستان کے سافٹ امیج کو نکھارنے کے ساتھ ساتھ بین الاقوامی سطح پر بہاولپور کی پہچان بن چکے ہیں ۔
