Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyaum, Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and called on Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob at his office. On this occasion, matters of mutual cooperation and educational development in teaching and research activities were discussed. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has an educational institution with a history of 100 years. Recently, new departments like Allied Health Sciences, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Entrepreneurship and Tourism have been established in the University. New sub-campuses are being opened and infrastructure and educational activities are being enhanced in the existing campuses. Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyaum said that the campus network of Allama Iqbal Open University is spread across the country and playing a significant role in promoting education. The ongoing teaching and research activities at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are commendable and both the universities can benefit from the wide network of Allama Iqbal Open University and expand the scope of teaching and research.

علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر ضیاء القیوم نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کا دورہ کیااور وائس چانسلر پرو فیسر ڈاکٹر اطہرمحبوب سے ان کے دفتر ملاقات کی۔ اس موقع پر دونوں جامعات کے مابین تدریسی اور تحقیقی سرگرمیوں میں باہمی تعاون اور تعلیمی ترقی کے معاملات پر گفتگو ہوئی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہرمحبوب نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور 100سالہ تاریخ کی حامل تعلیمی درس گاہ ہے۔جامعہ میں حال ہی میں نئے شعبہ جات الائیڈ ہیلتھ سائنسز، بائیو ٹیکنالوجی،ماحولیاتی سائنسز، انٹر پروینیورشپ اور ٹورازم جیسے شعبے قائم کیے گئے ہیں۔جامعہ اسلامیہ توسیعی منصوبوں کے ذریعے نئے سب کیمپس کھول رہی ہے اور موجودہ کیمپسز میں انفراسٹرکچر میں اضافہ اور تعلیمی سرگرمیوں میں اضافہ کیا جا رہا ہے۔ڈاکٹر ضیاء القیوم نے کہا کہ علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی کا کیمپس نیٹ ورک ملک کے طول و عرض میں پھیلا ہواہے اور وطن عزیز میں فروغ تعلیم کے لیے نمایاں کردار ادا کر رہاہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی میں جاری تدریسی اور تحقیقی سرگرمیاں لائق تحسین ہیں اور دونوں جامعات علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی کے وسیع نیٹ ورک سے مستفید ہو سکتی ہیں اور تدریس اور تحقیق کا دائر ہ کار بڑھا سکتی ہیں۔
