The public defence of PhD. Scholar Dr. Sheikh Safeena Sidiq was successfully held

The public defence of PhD. Scholar Dr. Sheikh Safeena Sidiq was successfully held on 09th August 2025 at the conference room Faculty of Pharmacy,  Khwaja Fareed campus , The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).

Dr. Sheikh Safeena Sidiq ,Director Women Health Care and consultant Gynaecologist IUB, completed her  doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Shahid Muhammad Iqbal  and  co-supervision of Prof.Dr Qaiser Jabeen at  department of Pharmacology Faculty of Pharmacy, IUB. Her dissertation, titled " Pharmacological evaluation of  Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf , for the management of Primary Dysmenorrhea” offered valuable insights in relieving menstrual pain and inflammation through nature Her topic was linked to SDG- 03 
The defence was honoured by the presence of a worthy Vice-Chancellor Govt. sadiq Women University Prof.Dr Shazia Anjum , Prof.Dr Muhammad Azhar Khan, Dr.Mrs.Nazir Azhar , Prof.Dr Qazi Masroor and Prof.Dr Muneer Azhar ( EX-HOD Medicine department QAMC) and  esteemed academics and faculty members, colleagues including Dr.Samina Ejaz, Associate Professor IBBB,  Prof.Dr.Amna Department of Business Administration, Government Sadiq College Women University , and Dr.Ambreen Maqsood Director Sports,  Dr.Noveen Javed Ass.Prof English department, Prof. Dr Ramzan Urdu department. 
The event was also graced by the External Examiner,  Dr. Imran from BZU Multan as an external expert.
Senior faculty members and a large audience of scholars and students from various departments joined the defence . The scholar’s extensive and innovative research work was highly appreciated by the examiner and Prof. Dr.Shazia Anjum, Prof. Dr.Qaiser Jabeen, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, IUB.
Following a successful defence and commendation of her scholarly contribution, 
Dr. Sheikh Safeena Sidiq was declared qualified for the award of the Double Doctorate (DD) degree.
