The IUB Animal Welfare Society, Directorate of Student Affairs, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized Paws & Protection, a Rabies Awareness and Prevention Quiz, to mark World Rabies Day and raise awareness among students regarding rabies prevention, vaccination, responsible pet care, and timely medical treatment following animal bites. Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum, Chairman, Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, graced the event as Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of the IUB Animal Welfare Society. In his address, he encouraged students to actively contribute to promoting awareness about rabies prevention, animal welfare, and public health. Students from different semesters of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme participated enthusiastically in the quiz competition and demonstrated their knowledge about rabies, its prevention, vaccination, and appropriate response following animal bites. The Society’s Advisor, Dr. Musadiq Idris, and Co-Advisor, Dr. Umair Riaz, appreciated the students and office bearers for organizing the awareness activity and particularly acknowledged the efforts of Farooq, President IUB Animal Welfare Society, for his leadership and contribution to the successful organization of the event. In the quiz competition, the team comprising Bilal Sajid, Faraz and Fuzail from Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 1st Semester secured first position, while the team of Iqra, Fatima and Abdul Rehman from Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 9th Semester secured second position. The third position was secured by the team of Sarwat, Kashaf and Zulaikha from Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 3rd Semester. The organizers emphasized that rabies is preventable through timely vaccination and appropriate medical care. Students and members of the community were encouraged to ensure vaccination of their pets and to seek immediate medical attention following any suspected rabies exposure or animal bite. The activity reflected the university’s commitment to promoting animal welfare, public health awareness, responsible pet ownership and community engagement.

ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف اسٹوڈنٹ افیئرز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیرِ اہتمامآئی یو بی اینیمل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی نےعالمی یومِ ریبیز کے موقع پرپاز اینڈ پروٹیکشن کے عنوان سے ریبیز سے آگاہی اور بچاؤ کے بارے میں ایک کوئز مقابلے کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس تقریب کا مقصد طلبہ میں ریبیز سے بچاؤ، ویکسینیشن، پالتو جانوروں کی ذمہ دارانہ دیکھ بھال اور جانور کے کاٹنے کی صورت میں بروقت طبی امداد کے حوالے سے شعور بیدار کرنا تھا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز کے شعبہ کلینیکل میڈیسن اینڈ سرجری کے چیئرمین، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالقیوم نے بطور مہمانِ خصوصی تقریب میں شرکت کی اور آئی یو بی اینیمل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ اپنے خطاب میں انہوں نے طلبہ کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ وہ ریبیز سے بچاؤ، جانوروں کی فلاح و بہبود اور عوامی صحت کے بارے میں آگاہی کو فروغ دینے میں فعال کردار ادا کریں۔ ڈاکٹر آف ویٹرنری میڈیسن پروگرام کے مختلف سمسٹرز کے طلبہ نے کوئز مقابلے میں بھرپور جوش و خروش سے حصہ لیا اور ریبیز، اس سے بچاؤ، ویکسینیشن اور جانور کے کاٹنے کی صورت میں مناسب ردعمل کے بارے میں اپنے علم کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ سوسائٹی کے ایڈوائزر ڈاکٹر مصدق ادریس اور کوایڈوائزر ڈاکٹر عمیر ریاض نے آگاہی سرگرمی کے انعقاد پر طلبہ اور عہدیداران کی تعریف کی اور خاص طور پر آئی یو بی اینیمل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی کے صدر فاروق کی قیادت اور تقریب کے کامیاب انعقاد میں ان کے کردار کو سراہا۔ کوئز مقابلے میں ڈاکٹر آف ویٹرنری میڈیسن کے پہلے سمسٹر کے بلال ساجد، فراز اور فضیل پر مشتمل ٹیم نے پہلی پوزیشن حاصل کی، جبکہ نویں سمسٹر کی اقرا، فاطمہ اور عبدالرحمن کی ٹیم نے دوسری پوزیشن حاصل کی۔ تیسری پوزیشن تیسرے سمسٹر کی ثروت، کشف اور زلیخا کی ٹیم نے حاصل کی۔ منتظمین نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ بروقت ویکسینیشن اور مناسب طبی دیکھ بھال کے ذریعے ریبیز سے بچاؤ ممکن ہے۔ طلبہ اور کمیونٹی کے اراکین کی حوصلہ افزائی کی گئی کہ وہ اپنے پالتو جانوروں کی ویکسینیشن کو یقینی بنائیں اور ریبیز کے شبہ یا جانور کے کاٹنے کی صورت میں فوری طبی امداد حاصل کریں۔ یہ سرگرمی جانوروں کی فلاح و بہبود، عوامی صحت سے متعلق آگاہی، پالتو جانوروں کی ذمہ دارانہ ملکیت اور کمیونٹی کی شمولیت کو فروغ دینے کے لیے یونیورسٹی کے عزم کی عکاس تھی۔
