Seminar on World Teachers Day 2025 at the Abassia Campus.

World Teachers’ Day, observed globally on October 5 each year, is a significant occasion dedicated to celebrating and honouring teachers for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and contributions toward shaping the minds and futures of their students. It serves as a reminder of the transformative role that teachers play in developing intellectual abilities, creativity, character, and critical thinking skills, thereby preparing students to become responsible professionals and citizens. In line with this global celebration, the Department of Social Work, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organised a vibrant and heartwarming event in collaboration with Helping Hand for Relief and Development at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall at Abbasia Campus to pay tribute to the University faculty members. The department's students, who took the initiative to express their love and appreciation for their teachers. The event began with an atmosphere filled with gratitude and excitement, as students presented fresh flowers to their teachers as tokens of affection and respect. They also distributed handmade “Happy Teacher’s Day” cards, each containing personal messages and notes of appreciation, acknowledging the teachers’ hard work, mentorship, and continuous guidance throughout their academic journey. The highlight of the event was the address by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of Islamia University of Bahawalpur, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his inspiring speech, the Vice Chancellor emphasised the vital role teachers play in nation-building and the holistic development of students. He remarked that teachers are the true architects of society, and their influence extends far beyond classrooms, shaping the values, discipline, and outlook of future generations. Dr. Kamran further noted that students are the reflections of their teachers, carrying forward their knowledge, ethics, and vision into the world. He encouraged both teachers and students to continue fostering a culture of respect, learning, and intellectual curiosity. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Prof Dr Asif Naveed Ranjha Chairman Department of Social Work also spoke on the occasion highlighted significace of the day celebrated globally. They thanked and expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor for his special presence in the event and appreciated the students for organising the activity. The celebration concluded with light refreshments and a group photo session, capturing the joyful moments of camaraderie between students and faculty. The event not only strengthened the bond between teachers and students but also served as a beautiful reminder of the noble profession of teaching and its everlasting impact on human development and social progress.

بہاولپور (پ ر) وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے کہا ہے کہ عالمی یوم اساتذہ ایک اہم موقع ہے جو اساتذہ کو ان کے غیر متزلزل عزم لگن اور طلباءوطالبات کے ذہنوں اور مستقبل کی تشکیل اور عزت افزائی کے لیے وقف ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار عالمی یوم اساتذہ کی مناسبت سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ سوشل ورک اور ہیلپنگ ہینڈ فار ریلیف اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ کے تعاون سے عباسیہ کیمپس کے غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال میں یونیورسٹی کے فیکلٹی ممبران کو خراج تحسین پیش کرنے کی تقریب کے دوران کیا۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے قوم کی تعمیر اور طلباء کی ہمہ گیر ترقی میں اساتذہ کے اہم کردار پر زور دیا۔ وائس چانسلرنے کہا کہ اساتذہ معاشرے کے حقیقی معمار ہیں اور ان کا اثر و رسوخ کلاس رومز سے بہت آگے تک پھیلا ہوا ہے جو اقدار نظم و ضبط اور آنے والی نسلوں کے نقطہ نظر کو تشکیل دیتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ طلباءوطالبات اپنے اساتذہ کا عکس ہوتے ہیں جو اپنے علم اخلاقیات اور وژن کو دنیا میں آگے بڑھاتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے اساتذہ اور طلباءوطالبات دونوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ وہ احترام سیکھنے اور فکری تجسس کی روایت کو فروغ دیتے رہیں۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا چیئرمین شعبہ سوشل ورک نے بھی خطاب کرتے ہوئے عالمی سطح پر منائے جانے والے اس دن کی اہمیت پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے تقریب میں خصوصی شرکت پر وائس چانسلر کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور اس سرگرمی کے انعقاد پر طلباءوطالبات کی تعریف کی۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اس تقریب نے نہ صرف اساتذہ اور طلباء کے درمیان تعلق کو مضبوط کیا بلکہ تدریس کے عظیم پیشے اور انسانی ترقی اور سماجی ترقی پر اس کے لازوال اثرات کی ایک خوبصورت یاد دہانی کا کام بھی کیا۔
