Muhammad Mudassar Javed, a postgraduate scholar in the Department of Anthropology at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has been awarded first place in the Human Rights category at the UN Sustainability Awards 2026. This honor reflects a 27-year journey during which the organization has provided free legal assistance and protection to 5.8 million refugees, displaced persons, and marginalized communities. Human rights have been promoted as the foundation of sustainability, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the UN Global Compact. His nomination to represent civil society in the Humanitarian Working Group serves as a genuine acknowledgment of his contributions to humanitarian welfare forums at both national and global levels.
