Bahawalpur (PR) The Department of Information Management, Islamia University of Bahawalpur Contributes to the Global Knowledge Ecosystem through Library Map of the World
The Department of Information Management at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur worked as a partner with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions in contributing to the globally recognized Library Map of the World which is a landmark initiative by International Federation of Library Associations.  It showcases the role and impact of libraries worldwide. As part of this prestigious collaboration, the Department has played a pivotal role by collecting and sharing comprehensive data on all types of libraries across Pakistan, including national, academic, public, community, school, and special libraries. This contribution represents a significant milestone in highlighting Pakistan’s libraries landscape on a global platform and promoting evidence-based advocacy for role of libraries in quality education, research, innovations, creativity and sustainable development. The data submitted by the Department includes an initial set of performance indicators that provide deep insight into the state of libraries in the country. The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti has expressed her pride in the department’s contribution in enhancing the visibility of Pakistan’s libraries on a global and our commitment to promoting access to information, digital inclusion, and community empowerment. She congratulated the contributing team Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan and Dr. Aamir Rasul and all faculty members of the department on playing their significant role in this milestone.This initiative of the department aligns with IUB’s vision of advancing research and development in the field of information science, and to the global collaboration, sustainable development, and innovation in education.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ انفارمیشن مینجمنٹ نے بین الاقوامی فیڈریشن آف لائبریری ایسوسی ایشنز اور مختلف اداروں کے ساتھ شراکت کے طور پر کام کیا تاکہ عالمی سطح پر تسلیم شدہ لائبریری میپ آف دی ورلڈ میں تعاون کیا جاسکے جو کہ بین الاقوامی فیڈریشن آف لائبریری ایسوسی ایشنز کا ایک تاریخی اقدام ہے۔ یہ دنیا بھر میں لائبریریوں کے کردار اور اثرات کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ ڈیپارٹمنٹ انفارمیشن مینجمنٹ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پاکستان بھر میں تمام قسم کی لائبریریوں، بشمول قومی، تعلیمی، عوامی، کمیونٹی، اسکول اور خصوصی لائبریریوں کے بارے میں جامع ڈیٹا اکٹھا اور شیئر کرکے ایک اہم کردار ادا کیا ہے۔ یہ شراکت عالمی پلیٹ فارم پر پاکستان کی لائبریریوں کے منظر نامے کو اجاگر کرنے اور معیاری تعلیم، تحقیق، اختراعات، تخلیقی صلاحیتوں اور پائیدار ترقی میں لائبریریوں کے کردار کو فروغ دینے میں ایک اہم سنگ میل کی نمائندگی کرتی ہے۔ شعبہ ہذا کی طرف سے جمع کرائے گئے ڈیٹا میں کارکردگی کے اشاریوں کا ایک ابتدائی سیٹ شامل ہے جو ملک میں لائبریریوں کی حالت کے بارے میں گہری بصیرت فراہم کرتا ہے۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی نے پاکستان کی لائبریریوں کی عالمی سطح پر اہمیت کو بڑھانے اور معلومات تک رسائی، ڈیجیٹل شمولیت اور کمیونٹی کو بااختیار بنانے کے لیے ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے تعاون کو سراہا ہے۔ انہوں نے تعاون کرنے والی ٹیم ڈاکٹر شکیل احمد خان اور ڈاکٹر عامر رسول اور شعبہ کے تمام فیکلٹی ممبران کو اس سنگ میل میں اپنا اہم کردار ادا کرنے پر مبارکباد دی۔ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کا یہ اقدام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے انفارمیشن سائنس کے میدان میں تحقیق اور ترقی کو آگے بڑھانے کے وژن کے ساتھ ہم آہنگ ہے، اور عالمی تعاون، پائیدار تعلیم میں پائیدار ترقی اور تعاون کو فروغ دیتا ہے۔
