IUB's BS Forestry Students selected for a fully funded split degree program under CPEC

As many as twenty students from the first batch (2024-28) of the BS Forestry program of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur have been selected for a fully funded split degree program under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has congratulated the students selected for the scholarship. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran said that this partnership is a significant step towards the international expansion of higher education at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and reflects the university’s commitment to providing world-class educational and cultural facilities to its students. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Director, Institute of Forest Sciences and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, and faculty members who played a key role in achieving this international educational partnership. Under this program students will be provided with a fully funded scholarship that includes tuition fees, accommodation, travel and daily expenses. Students will spend one year and two semesters at Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry and Yunnan University in China during their educational journey. This program was initiated under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Institute of Forest Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the partner universities in China. Under this MoU, students of every new batch starting from fall 2024 will be eligible for this split degree program. Students will study for three years at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and one year in China. Later, they will return to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to complete their degree. This program will not only be a means of academic advancement but will also open doors to higher education, international scholarships and job opportunities in China.

بہاولپور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے بی ایس فاریسٹری پروگرام کے پہلے بیچ (2024-28) کے 20 طلبا ؤ طالبات کو چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (CPEC) کے تحت مکمل فنڈڈ سپلٹ ڈگری پروگرام کے لیے منتخب کرلیا گیا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے سکالرشپ کے لیے منتخب ہونے والے طلبا ؤ طالبات کو مبارکباد دی ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے کہا کہ یہ شراکت داری اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کی بین الاقوامی سطح پر وسعت کی جانب ایک اہم پیش رفت ہے اور اس بات کی عکاسی کرتی ہے کہ یونیورسٹی اپنے طلباء کو عالمی معیار کی تعلیمی اور ثقافتی سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے لیے پُرعزم ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے اس اسکالرشپ کے حصول کے سلسلے میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی ڈائریکٹر انسٹیٹیوٹ آف فاریسٹ سائنسز اور ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اور فیکلٹی ممبران کی کاوشوں کو سراہا جنہوں نے اس بین الاقوامی تعلیمی شراکت داری کے حصول میں کلیدی کردار ادا کیا۔ اس پروگرام کے تحت طلباء کو مکمل فنڈڈ اسکالرشپ دی جائے گی جس میں ٹیوشن فیس، رہائش، سفر اور روزمرہ اخراجات شامل ہیں۔ طلباء اپنے تعلیمی سفر کے دوران ایک سال دو سمسٹرز جیانگسو ووکیشنل کالج آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ فاریسٹری اور یونان یونیورسٹی چین میں گزاریں گے۔ یہ پروگرام ایک مفاہمتی یادداشت کے تحت شروع کیا گیا جو اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے انسٹیٹیوٹ آف فاریسٹ سائنسز اور چین کی شراکت دار جامعات کے درمیان طے پایا تھا۔ اس مفاہمتی یادداشت کے تحت خزاں 2024 سے شروع ہونے والے ہر نئے بیچ کے طلباؤطالبات اس سپلٹ ڈگری پروگرام کے لیے اہل ہوں گے۔ طلبا و طالبات تین سال اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں اور ایک سال چین میں تعلیم حاصل کریں گے۔ بعد ازاں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور واپس آکر اپنی ڈگری مکمل کریں گے۔ یہ پروگرام نہ صرف تعلیمی ترقی کا ذریعہ بنے گا بلکہ اعلیٰ تعلیم بین الاقوامی اسکالرشپس اور چین میں ملازمت کے مواقع کے دروازے بھی کھولے گا۔
