The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan Campus, in joint collaboration with the District Health Department, hosted an impactful awareness seminar titled Polio Eradication and Public Health Awareness. The initiative aimed to intensify community vaccination efforts, address public health challenges, and reinforce collective action toward achieving a polio-free Pakistan. The seminar brought together key health officials, academic leaders, faculty, and students to discuss strategic measures for safeguarding children against preventable diseases. On this occasion Dr. Ibrar Cheema, Chief Executive Officer Health, Dr. Usman, District Health Officer, Dr. Fahad, Deputy District Health Officer Rahim Yar Khan and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi, Director Campus, IUB Rahim Yar Khan Campus participated. Addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi emphasized the vital role academic institutions play in mobilizing youth and driving social change. Dr. Ibrar Cheema highlighted the strategic necessity of routine immunization, active community engagement, and multi-sectoral collaboration to eradicate polio once and for all. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the Campus Coordinator, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and students, who pledged to actively spread awareness within their local communities. The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment from both IUB and the Health Department to continue joint public health outreach programs for a healthier future.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور رحیم یار خان کیمپس نے ڈسٹرکٹ ہیلتھ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے اشتراک سےپولیو کا خاتمہ اور عوامی صحت سے متعلق آگاہی کے عنوان سے سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد کمیونٹی میں ویکسینیشن کی کوششوں کو تیز کرنا، عوامی صحت کے چیلنجوں سے نمٹنا اور پولیو سے پاک پاکستان کے حصول کے لیے اجتماعی کوششوں کو مضبوط بنانا تھا۔ سیمینار میں صحت کے اہم حکام، تعلیمی رہنماؤں، فیکلٹی اور طلباء نے شرکت کی، جہاں بچوں کو ان بیماریوں سے محفوظ رکھنے کے لیے حکمت عملیوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا جن سے بچاؤ ممکن ہے۔اس موقع پرڈاکٹر ابرار چیمہ، چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر ہیلتھ، ڈاکٹر عثمان، ڈسٹرکٹ ہیلتھ آفیسر،ڈاکٹر فہد، ڈپٹی ڈسٹرکٹ ہیلتھ آفیسر، رحیم یار خان، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام حسن عباسی، ڈائریکٹر کیمپس، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور رحیم یار خان کیمپس نے خصوصی شرکت کی۔ شرکاء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام حسن عباسی نے نوجوانوں کو متحرک کرنے اور سماجی تبدیلی لانے میں تعلیمی اداروں کے کلیدی کردار پر زور دیا۔ ڈاکٹر ابرار چیمہ نے پولیو کے مکمل خاتمے کے لیے معمول کی حفاظتی ٹیکہ جات ، کمیونٹی کی فعال شمولیت اور مختلف شعبوں کے مابین باہمی تعاون کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا۔ اس تقریب میں کیمپس کوآرڈینیٹر، سربراہانِ شعبہ جات، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلباء نے بھرپور جوش و خروش کے ساتھ شرکت کی اور اپنی مقامی برادریوں میں آگاہی پھیلانے کا عہد کیا۔ سیمینار کا اختتام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور اور محکمہ صحت کے اس عزم کے ساتھ ہوا کہ وہ ایک صحت مند مستقبل کے لیے عوامی صحت سے متعلق مشترکہ پروگراموں کا سلسلہ جاری رکھیں گے۔
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
