The third International Conference on Teaching and Learning began at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur today.  As many as 300 delegates from Belgium, Canada, UK and Pakistani Universities are participating in two day international event being held in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur inaugurated the conference while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, National Skills University Islamabad delivered keynote address on teaching workplace skills. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob in his address said that at present, new paradigms are shrinking our world. Innovations are the intersection of ideas. Information and communication technologies are emerging as the new powerful means of transferring knowledge for better and result-oriented teaching and learning. The future research would be based upon the exploration of the impact of Information Communication Technology on students’ learning achievements. In this scenario, the IUB has a distinct record of achievements in the field of education, and research right from its inception in 1975. It has always been active in establishing collaborative linkage with reputed institutions, international academic bodies and with well-known organizations for achieving excellence on the basis of electronic technology. The academic excellence has put IUB at the eleventh position out of 73 general category higher education institutions in the country. The IUB has been playing a significant role to help the region by capacity building of the faculty and students since its establishment in the year 1975. IUB provide tenth of millions of rupees each year to the departments of natural and social sciences and the associated constituent professional colleges of engineering, agriculture, veterinary, eastern conventional medicines and arts and design to establish the state-of-the-art researchers. IUB has awarded outstanding research incentives to the faculty that commensurate with the quality and impact factor of their research papers. Our graduates and doctors are serving the humanity in all fields at national and international institutions. We are open to the community by introducing several civic service and co-curricular activities. Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali, Dean Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain, Chairman, Department of Education and Dr. Abid Shahzad, Founder and Chief Organizer of the conference also spoke on this occasion.

بہاول پور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام تیسری بین الاقوامی کانفرنس برائے ٹیچنگ اینڈ لرننگ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں شروع ہو گئی۔ پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کے اشتراک سے ہونے والی اس دو روزہ کانفرنس میں برطانیہ، کینیڈا، بیلجیم اور پاکستان کی مختلف جامعات سے 300مندوبین شریک ہیں جو 176 موضوعات پر تحقیقی مقالات پیش کریں گے۔ کانفرنس کا افتتاح انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے کیا۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار وائس چانسلر نیشنل سکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ریاض الحق طارق، سابق وائس چانسلر یونیورسٹی آف سرگودھا اور ملکی اور غیر ملکی مندوبین موجود تھے۔ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی میں ترقی کی بدولت تدریس اور تحقیق میں جدت آئی ہے جس کی بدولت فروغ تعلیم میں غیر معمولی بہتری آئی ہے۔ مستقبل میں تعلیم کے فروغ میں انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کا کردار کلیدی ہوگا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا معیاری تعلیم کے فروغ میں نمایاں کردار رہا ہے۔ اس مقصد کے لیے حال ہی میں نامور ملکی اور غیر ملکی جامعات اور اِداروں سے اشتراک کو بڑھایا گیا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ یونیورسٹی میں گزشتہ فال اور سپرنگ میں 12ہزار سے زائد داخلے ممکن ہوئے۔ تعلیمی معیار کی بلندی اور مارکیٹ کی ضروریات سے ہم آہنگ تعلیمی پروگراموں کا آغاز ہمارا مقصد ہے تاکہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو ملکی اور بین الاقوامی سطح کی مثالی جامعہ بنایا جا سکے۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اختر علی نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ اساتذہ کو تدریسی عمل کے لیے بہترین صلاحیتوں سے لیس کیا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ ایک مسلسل عمل ہے تاکہ اساتذہ کی صلاحیتوں میں اضافہ ہو اور وہ نئے علوم سے روشناس ہو سکیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ارشاد حسین چیئر مین شعبہ ایجوکیشن نے کہا کہ اُن کا شعبہ بہترین کاکردگی کا حامل رہا ہے جہاں پر اساتذہ کو جدید ترین طریقہ ہائے کار سے تربیت دی جاتی ہے۔ اُنہیں ایلمنٹری، سیکنڈری اور پوسٹ سیکنڈری سطح کے اساتذہ بننے کے لیے مکمل تربیت فراہم کی جاتی ہے۔ کانفرنس کے فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر عابد شہزاد نے کہا کہ اس کانفرنس کا مسلسل تیسری بار انعقاد اور ملکی اور غیر ملکی مندوبین کی شرکت شعبہ تدریس کی عالمی مقبولیت کا واضح ثبوت ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور اس سلسلے میں بین الاقوامی سطح پر منفرد مقام حاصل کر چکی ہے۔ انہوں نے کانفرنس کے انعقاد میں تعاون اور سرپرستی پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور مندوبین کی جامعہ میں آمدکو سراہا۔
