The Directorate of Information Technology stands as a key pillar of digital transformation at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, working under the dynamic leadership of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Muhammad Kamran. The Directorate is actively driving the modernization of the University’s technological landscape to support academic excellence, research advancement, and efficient governance.

It manages and maintains the University’s core IT infrastructure, including campus-wide networking, high-speed internet services, enterprise systems, and centralized data center operations. Through robust system administration, server management, and advanced cybersecurity measures, the Directorate ensures a secure, reliable, and high-availability digital environment for students, faculty, and staff.

The Directorate plays a leading role in automation and digitalization of university processes, facilitating academic management systems, examination support, administrative workflows, and institutional data services. It provides comprehensive hardware and software support, oversees maintenance of IT equipment, and ensures the operational readiness of computer labs and offices across campus.

A dedicated IT Helpdesk serves as the frontline support unit, delivering prompt technical assistance, resolving user issues, and ensuring uninterrupted access to digital services. The Directorate also supports research computing, digital innovation initiatives, and technology-enabled solutions that enhance transparency, efficiency, and service delivery.
