Inaugural Ceremony of IUB Centenary Celebrations: Honorable Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan graced the event.

Bahawalpur (PR) Governor of the Punjab and Chancellor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan inaugurated the centenary celebrations of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. These celebrations have been organized at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to mark the 100th anniversary and Marka e Haq and Independence Day. Governor of the Punjab attended a special ceremony at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall at Abbasia Campus. Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the historic building of Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall is an motivates us to celebrate a century of promotion of knowledge, hard work and dedication, vision and nation building. Jamia Islamia was established with the vision of the knowledge-loving rulers of Bahawalpur. The inclusion of the state in Pakistan by the Nawab of Bahawalpur is a favor to all of us the Pakistani nation. In 1975, Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto granted Jamia Islamia the status of a fully chartered university, which is a masterpiece of Shaheed Quaid’s love for his beloved land and of knowledge. The Governor of the Punjab said that Pakistan is a gift from Allah and its destination and position are very high. Recently, India showed arrogance. The entire nation united and defeated a five times larger and powerful country. The Governor of Punjab said that the current era is of knowledge economy, science and technology and digital development. Our youth are facing challenges like environmental changes, rapidly growing population and food security, which the educated generation has to solve. Along with science and technology, we have to protect our great intellectual and cultural heritage. The teachings of brotherhood and love of Khwaja Ghulam Farid are a beacon of light and hope for us. The Governor of Punjab appreciated the efforts for the improvement and development of the university under the leadership of Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran. He said that the Vice Chancellor is hard-working and has the best vision for the development of the university. In his speech on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran said that the presence of Chancellor and Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at the beginning of the centenary celebrations is an honor for the teachers, students, employees and alumni. Jamia Abbasia was established 100 years ago in 1925. In 1963, it was given the status of Jamia Islamia and then on March 4, 1975, it was called the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Today, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, a university spreading over a vast area, is playing a prominent role in the social, economic and educational development of South Punjab and the dear homeland. The students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are doing outstanding work in every field. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is among the top 1000 universities in the world in the Times Higher Education and QS rankings. Steps are being taken in the university for quality education so that teaching and research are of high quality and in line with national development. The cooperation of government institutions in this regard is a welcoming sign. The Governor of Punjab awarded cash prizes to the students who performed the national anthem and song at the ceremony. On the occasion of his arrival, the Governor of Punjab hoisted the flag in connection with the Marka e Haq and Independence Month. He also inaugurated the Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi Centenary Gate, Faculty Hostel and Shopping Market. On this occasion, he also planted a sapling in the lawn of Abbasia Campus in connection with the tree plantation drive. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, National Skills University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar, Vice Chancellor, Thal University Bhakkar, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ayaz, Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bahawalpur, former Vice Chancellor Rao Muhammad Afzal Khan, Director Information Bahawalpur Tariq Ismail, Sahibzada Asim Javed Abbasi, deans, teachers, government officers, industrialists, civil society and media representatives and students in large numbers.

بہاولپور (پ ر) گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر سردار سلیم حیدر خان نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی سو سالہ تقریبات کا افتتاح کردیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں معرکہ حق جشن آزادی اور 100 سال مکمل ہونے پر تقریبات کا اہتمام کیا گیا ہے۔ گورنر پنجاب نے عباسیہ کیمپس اپنی آمد کےفوراً بعد غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال میں خصوصی تقریب میں شرکت کی۔ سردار سلیم حیدرخان نے کہا کہ غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال کی تاریخی عمارت ترویج علم، محنت و لگن ، ویژن اور قوم کی تعمیر کی ایک صدی منانے کا موقع ہے۔ بہاولپور کے علم دوست حکمرانوں کی مستقبل بینی اور دور اندیشی سے جامعہ اسلامیہ قائم ہوئی۔ نواب آف بہاولپور کا پاکستان میں ریاست کو شامل کرنا ہم سب پر احسان ہے۔ 1975 میں قائد عوام شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو نے جامعہ اسلامیہ کو مکمل چارٹرڈ یونیورسٹی کا درجہ دیا جو میرے شہید قائد کی سوہنی دھرتی سے محبت اور علم دوستی کا شاہکار ہے۔ گورنر پنجاب نے کہا کہ پاکستان اللہ کا انعام ہے اور اسکی منزل اور مقام بہت اونچا ہے حال ہی میں انڈیا نے گھمنڈ کا مظاہرہ کیا ساری قوم نے متحد ہو کر پانچ گنا بڑے اور طاقتور ملک کو شکست فاش دی۔ گورنر پنجاب نے کہا کہ موجودہ دور تشکیل علم ، سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی اور ڈیجیٹل ترقی کا دور ہے۔ ہمارے نوجوانوں کو ماحولیاتی تبدیلی، تیزی سے بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی اور فوڈ سیکورٹی جیسے چیلنجز کا سامنا ہے جسے پڑھی لکھی نسل نے حل کرنا ہے۔ سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی کے ساتھ  ہمیں اپنے عظیم فکری اور ثقافتی ورثے کی حفاظت کرنی ہے۔ خواجہ غلام فرید کی اخوت اور محبت کی تعلیمات ہمارے لیے مشعل راہ ہیں۔ گورنر پنجاب نے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران کی قیادت میں یونیورسٹی کی بہتری اور ترقی کے لیے کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وائس چانسلر محنتی ہیں اور یونیورسٹی کی ترقی کے لیے بہترین وژن رکھتے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر اپنے خطاب میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے کہا کہ صد سالہ تقریبات کے آغاز پر چانسلر و گورنر پنجاب سردار سلیم حیدر خان کی موجودگی اساتذہ، طلباوطالبات، ملازمین اور ایلومنائی کے لیے باعث اعزاز ہے۔ 100 سال پہلے 1925 میں جامعہ عباسیہ کا قیام ہوا۔ 1963 میں اسے جامعہ اسلامیہ کا درجہ ملا اور پھر 4 مارچ 1975 کو یہ جامعہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کہلائی۔ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور وسیع و عریض رقبے پر پھیلی ہوئی یونیورسٹی جنوبی پنجاب اور وطن عزیز کی سماجی، معاشی اور تعلیمی ترقی میں نمایاں کردار ادا کررہی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے طلباءوطالبات ہر میدان میں نمایاں کام سرانجام دے رہے ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ٹائمز ہائر ایجوکیشن اور کیو ایس رینکنگ میں دنیا کی 1000 اولین جامعات میں شامل ہے۔ یونیورسٹی میں معیاری تعلیم کے لیے اقدامات کیے جارہے ہیں تاکہ تدریس وتحقیق اعلیٰ معیار اور قومی ترقی سے ہم آہنگ ہو۔ اس سلسلے میں حکومتی اداروں کا تعاون خوش آئند ہے۔ گورنر پنجاب نے تقریب میں ملی نغمہ پیش کرنے والے طلباءوطالبات کو نقد انعام سے نوازا۔ گورنر پنجاب نے اپنی آمد کے موقع پر معرکہ حق اور جشن آزادی کے سلسلے میں پرچم کشائی کی ۔ انہوں نے سر صادق محمد خان عباسی صد سالہ گیٹ، فیکلٹی ہاسٹل اور شاپنگ مارکیٹ کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے شجرکاری کے سلسلے میں عباسیہ کیمپس کے سبزہ زار میں پودا بھی لگایا۔ تقریب میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار وائس چانسلر نیشنل سکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم وائس چانسلر گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعید احمد بزدار وائس چانسلر تھل یونیورسٹی بھکر، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مظہر ایاز وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز بہاولپور، سابق وائس چانسلر راو محمد افضل خان، ڈائریکٹر انفارمیشن بہاولپور طارق اسماعیل، صاحبزادہ عاصم جاوید عباسی، ڈینز، اساتذۂ، سرکاری افسران، صنعتکاروں، سول سوسائٹی اور میڈیا کے نمائندوں و طلباءوطالبات نے کثیر تعداد میں شرکت کی۔
