A delegation from Farmers Development Organization, Ali Ijaz, Project Manager, Zahida Siraj, Saleem Ahmed and Uzair Ahmed, Deputy District Officer Social Welfare and Bait ul Mal Bahawalpur met with Vice Chancellor, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran at Abbasia Campus. The meeting was also attended by Prof Dr Rubina Bhatti, Professor. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman, Department of Social Work, Registrar, Muhammad Shaji Ur Rehman, Director Public Relations, Dr. Shehzad Ahmed Khalid, Executive Secretary to Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Khalid Sheikh, Principal Staff officer to Vice Chancellor Waseem Ahmed Siddiqui. Prof Dr Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work briefed on the Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative Project implemented at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Farmers Development Organization, British Council Pakistan and Water-Aid Pakistan. He shared that 1,120 students from various departments of were divided into 28 groups and four faculty members from Department of Social Work as trainers, conducted four-day activity-based training sessions for each group. The training covered climate change concepts, including its causes, background, and impacts, and linked them with five major thematic areas: solid waste management, renewable energy, water conservation, climate education, and tree plantation. He further informed that students were awarded certificates after completing the training and developed practical models based on these themes. The Vice Chancellor specially appreciated Farmers Development Organization, British Council, Water-Aid and Department of Social Work stating that such initiatives are effectively engaging youth on climate resilience and will contribute to a more sustainable future for Pakistan. Following the meeting, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran led a tree plantation activity at Abbasia Campus along with faculty members and Farmers Development Organization members. Later, a model exhibition was jointly organized by the Department of Social Work, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Farmers Development Organization at the Khawaja Fareed Auditorium, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus. More than thirty (30) models related to climate change were presented by different student groups of the university, reflecting their practical understanding of climate resilience themes. Students from Government Women Technology College Bahawalpur also participated and presented their models. Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha and Social Work faculty and students welcomed Chief Guest, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf, Guest of Honour, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti. The exhibition was attended by Prof. Dr. Wajid Nasim Jatoi, Riaz Ahmed, Chairman Department of English Linguistics, Dr Muhammad Zia Ul Haq, Chairman, Department of Physical and Sports Sciences, Mirza Muhammad Imran, Chairman Department of Biochemistry, Naeem Asim, Head of Public Health Department Ghulam Sarwar, Department of Botany. Faculty members from the Department of Social Work included Dr Aisha Shaukat, Dr Muhammad Jafar Wattoo, Dr Mansoor Ali Shah, Hassan Raza, Ahmed Nawaz, Rizwan ul Haq, Salman Khan, Aftab Ahmed, and Qurat ul Ain and faculty members from other departments were also present. Chief Guest, guest of honour and all attendees appreciated Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Department of Social Work, Project team Aftab Ahmed, Qurat ul Ain, Hassan Raza, Sohail Raza, Khuda Bakhsh, Ahmed Cheema, Shahzeb. They also appreciated students’ creativity, innovation, and understanding of climate change challenges demonstrated through the models. A concluding tree plantation drive was also organized at Baghdad Campus where Prof Dr Rubina Bhatti and Prof Dr Irshad Ahmad participated along with faculty members and students. Ali Ijaz from Farmers Development Organization appreciated and thanked the collaboration and successful execution of the project. On behalf of the university, Prof Dr Asif Naveed Ranjha expressed gratitude to all guests, students and partner organizations.

فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن کے پراجیکٹ منیجر علی اعجاز، زاہدہ سراج، سلیم احمد اور عزیر احمد ڈپٹی ڈسٹرکٹ آفیسر سوشل ویلفیئر اور بیت المال بہاولپور کے وفد نے عباسیہ کیمپس میں وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران سے ملاقات کی۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا چیئرمین شعبہ سوشل ورک، رجسٹرار محمد شجیع الرحمان، ڈائریکٹر پبلک ریلیشنز ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد، ایگزیکٹو سیکرٹری ڈاکٹرمحمد خالد شیخ، سٹاف آفیسر ٹو وائس چانسلر وسیم احمد صدیقی موجود تھے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا، چیئرمین ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سوشل ورک نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن، برٹش کونسل پاکستان اور واٹر ایڈ پاکستان کے اشتراک سے لگائے گئے پاکستان یوتھ لیڈر شپ انیشیٹو پروجیکٹ کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ مختلف شعبہ جات کے 1,120 طلباء کو 28 گروپوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا اور شعبہ سوشل ورک کے چار فیکلٹی ممبران بطور ٹرینر، ہر گروپ کے لیے چار روزہ سرگرمی پر مبنی تربیتی سیشنز کا انعقاد کیا۔ تربیت میں موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے تصورات کا احاطہ کیا گیا، بشمول اس کی وجوہات، پس منظر اور اثرات، اور انہیں پانچ اہم موضوعاتی شعبوں سے جوڑ دیا گیا۔ ٹھوس فضلہ کا انتظام، قابل تجدید توانائی، پانی کا تحفظ، موسمیاتی تعلیم، اور درخت لگانا۔ انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ طلباء کو تربیت مکمل کرنے کے بعد سرٹیفکیٹس سے نوازا گیا اور ان موضوعات پر مبنی پریکٹیکل ماڈل تیار کیے گئے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن، برٹش کونسل، واٹر ایڈ اور ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سوشل ورک کو خصوصی طور پر سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس طرح کے اقدامات نوجوانوں کو موسمیاتی لچک پر موثر انداز میں شامل کر رہے ہیں اور پاکستان کے مزید پائیدار مستقبل میں کردار ادا کریں گے۔ ملاقات کے بعد پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے فیکلٹی ممبران اور فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن کے ممبران کے ہمراہ عباسیہ کیمپس میں شجر کاری مہم کے سلسلے می پودا لگایا۔ بعد ازاں خواجہ فرید آڈیٹوریم بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں شعبہ سوشل ورک، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور اور فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن کی جانب سے مشترکہ طور پر ماڈل نمائش کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ موسمیاتی تبدیلی سے متعلق تیس (30) سے زائد ماڈل یونیورسٹی کے مختلف طلباء گروپوں کی طرف سے پیش کیے گئے، جو موسمیاتی لچک کے موضوعات کے بارے میں ان کی عملی سمجھ کی عکاسی کرتے ہیں۔ گورنمنٹ وومن ٹیکنالوجی کالج بہاولپور کی طالبات نے بھی شرکت کی اور اپنے ماڈل پیش کیے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا اور سوشل ورک فیکلٹی اور طلباء نے مہمان خصوصی پرو وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالرؤف، ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی کا استقبال کیا۔ نمائش میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر واجد نسیم جتوئی، ریاض احمد چیئرمین شعبہ انگریزی لسانیات، ڈاکٹر محمد ضیاء الحق چیئرمین شعبہ فزیکل اینڈ سپورٹس سائنسز، مرزا محمد عمران چیئرمین شعبہ بائیو کیمسٹری، نعیم عاصم، پبلک ہیلتھ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے سربراہ غلام سرور، شعبہ نباتیات نے شرکت کی۔ شعبہ سوشل ورک کے فیکلٹی ممبران میں ڈاکٹر عائشہ شوکت، ڈاکٹر محمد جعفر وٹو، ڈاکٹر منصور علی شاہ، حسن رضا، احمد نواز، رضوان الحق، سلمان خان، آفتاب احمد، اور قرۃ العین اور دیگر شعبہ جات کے فیکلٹی ممبران بھی موجود تھے۔ مہمان خصوصی، مہمان خصوصی اور تمام حاضرین نے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا، شعبہ سوشل ورک، پراجیکٹ ٹیم آفتاب احمد، قرۃ العین، حسن رضا، سہیل رضا، خدا بخش، احمد چیمہ، شاہ زیب کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے ماڈلز کے ذریعے طلباء کی تخلیقی صلاحیتوں، اختراعات اور موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے چیلنجز کو سمجھنے کی بھی تعریف کی۔ بغداد کیمپس میں ایک اختتامی شجرکاری مہم کا بھی انعقاد کیا گیا جس میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ارشاد احمد نے فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلباء کے ہمراہ شرکت کی۔ فارمرز ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن کے علی اعجاز نے پراجیکٹ کے تعاون اور کامیاب عمل درآمد کو سراہا اور شکریہ ادا کیا۔ یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا نے تمام مہمانوں، طلباء اور شراکت دار تنظیموں کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔
