Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, IUB organized a seminar on Frontline Wildlife Conservation in Pakistan

The Institute of Forest Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment organized a seminar on Frontline Wildlife Conservation in Pakistan to highlight key conservation challenges and field-based solutions. Ashiq Ahmed Khan, Former Chief Technical Advisor World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF), was the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. He shared practical experiences and stressed community participation, climate adaptation, and sustainable conservation of endangered species. Distinguished guests included Malik Saleem Conservator Forest, Bahawalpur, Ghanzanfar former Director Wildlife, Punjab, and Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Director Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafay welcomed participants and highlighted the institute’s role in linking research with field practices, while Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi emphasized collaboration among academia, government, and conservation bodies. The seminar concluded with an interactive Question and Answer session attended by faculty and students. انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فاریسٹ سائنسز فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پاکستان میں فرنٹ لائن وائلڈ لائف کنزرویشن کے موضوع پر ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا۔ سابق چیف ٹیکنیکل ایڈوائزر ورلڈ وائلڈ لائف فنڈ فار نیچر پاکستان عاشق احمد خان کلیدی مقرر تھے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے شرکاء سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور حیاتیات کے تحفظ خاص طور پر چولستانی پودوں اور جانوروں کے تحفظ اور بقا کے لئے مختلف اداروں کے ساتھ اشتراک عمل کر رہی ہے۔ ڈاکٹر عاشق حسین نے آب و ہوا کی موافقت اور خطرے سے دوچار انواع کے پائیدار تحفظ پر زور دیا۔ دیگر مقررین میں ملک سلیم کنزرویٹر فاریسٹ بہاولپور غضنفر سابق ڈائریکٹر وائلڈ لائف پنجاب اور ڈاکٹر محمد عبداللہ ڈائریکٹر چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور شامل تھے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد رافع نے شرکاء کا خیرمقدم کیا اور تحقیق کو فیلڈ پریکٹس سے جوڑنے میں ادارے کے کردار پر روشنی ڈالی۔  پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی نے تعلیمی اداروں حکومت اور تحفظ کے اداروں کے درمیان تعاون پر زور دیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر واجد نسیم جتوئی، فوکل پرسن کلائمیٹ چینج سسٹین ایبلٹی کنزرویشن اور ڈائریکٹر، انٹرنیشنل سنٹر فار کلائمیٹ چینج، فوڈ سیکیورٹی اینڈ سسٹین ایبلٹی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور نے معزز مہمان کی جامعہ اسلامیہ آمد پر شکریہ ادا کیا اور قومی اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر تعاون اور مشترکہ منصوبے کے اقدامات کو سراہا۔
