The Character Building Society of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs, organized a seminar and student debate on the topic “Pakistan’s Role in Promoting World Peace: Unity in Diversity and Responsible Citizenship” at Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus. The event was attended by political and social figures, heads of educational institutions, members of the journalist community, faculty members and students. The program aimed to raise awareness among young people about Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace, the significance of unity in diversity, responsible citizenship, the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and the national and social responsibilities of the younger generation. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, in his message on the occasion, emphasized that universities have a vital responsibility to nurture a generation equipped with knowledge, strong moral character, tolerance and a commitment to peace and justice. He stated that Pakistan, guided by the universal principles of Islam, can make a meaningful contribution to world peace by promoting interfaith harmony, mutual respect, dialogue and international cooperation. He further highlighted that unity in diversity is a source of national strength and that responsible citizenship requires respect for the Constitution and the law, protection of others’ rights, rejection of intolerance and active participation in the social and national development of the country. He urged students to become ambassadors of peace, uphold democratic values, respect differences of opinion and use their education and abilities to build a peaceful, inclusive and progressive society while projecting Pakistan’s positive image internationally. Saad Aslam and Muhammad Basit hosted the proceedings. Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Advisor, Character Building Society; Dr. Rao Imran Habib, Dean, Faculty of Law; Dr. Javed Iqbal, motivational speaker; Dr. Obaid-ur-Rehman, Islamic scholar; Dr. Shakeel Akhtar, Chairman, Department of Political Science; and Dr. Israr Shah, President, Central Traders Association, participated in the program and shared their views. The speakers highlighted the importance of global peace, Pakistan’s international responsibilities, the promotion of peace and brotherhood in the light of Islamic teachings, the supremacy of law, justice and youth character building. They stressed that mutual respect, tolerance, constructive dialogue, justice and moral values are essential for sustainable peace and encouraged young people to contribute to national unity, social harmony and responsible citizenship. Student debates and question-and-answer sessions provided participants with an opportunity to express their views, understand diverse perspectives and engage in constructive discussions on national and international issues. A quiz competition was also organized, with participants answering questions from the audience, and prizes were distributed among those who gave correct answers. The event concluded with the observation that such academic and co-curricular activities play a significant role in developing students’ intellectual abilities, strengthening moral character, promoting respect for diversity and cultivating a sense of civic responsibility. The program reaffirmed The Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s commitment to preparing responsible, enlightened and socially conscious graduates who can contribute to national progress, promote peaceful coexistence and advance Pakistan’s role in building a more peaceful and harmonious world.

کیریکٹر بلڈنگ سوسائٹی نےڈائریکٹوریٹ آف اسٹوڈنٹ افیئرز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے اشتراک سے عباسیہ کیمپس کے گھوٹوی ہال میں عالمی امن کے فروغ میں پاکستان کا کردار: تنوع میں اتحاد اور ذمہ دارانہ شہریت کے موضوع پر ایک سیمینار اور طلبہ مباحثے کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس تقریب میں سیاسی و سماجی شخصیات، تعلیمی اداروں کے سربراہان، صحافتی برادری کے اراکین، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلبہ نے شرکت کی۔ پروگرام کا مقصد نوجوانوں میں عالمی امن کے فروغ میں پاکستان کے کردار، تنوع میں اتحاد کی اہمیت، ذمہ دارانہ شہریت، امتِ مسلمہ کو درپیش چیلنجز اور نوجوان نسل کی قومی و سماجی ذمہ داریوں کے بارے میں شعور بیدار کرنا تھا۔ اس موقع پر اپنے پیغام میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یونیورسٹیوں کی یہ اہم ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ ایسی نسل تیار کریں جو علم، مضبوط اخلاقی کردار، رواداری اور امن و انصاف کے عزم سے آراستہ ہو۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان، اسلام کے آفاقی اصولوں کی روشنی میں، بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی، باہمی احترام، مکالمے اور بین الاقوامی تعاون کو فروغ دے کر عالمی امن میں نمایاں کردار ادا کر سکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ تنوع میں اتحاد قومی طاقت کا ذریعہ ہے، اور ذمہ دارانہ شہریت کا تقاضا ہے کہ آئین و قانون کا احترام کیا جائے، دوسروں کے حقوق کا تحفظ ہو، عدم رواداری کو مسترد کیا جائے اور ملک کی سماجی و قومی ترقی میں فعال کردار ادا کیا جائے۔ انہوں نے طلبہ پر زور دیا کہ وہ امن کے سفیر بنیں، جمہوری اقدار کی پاسداری کریں، اختلافِ رائے کا احترام کریں اور اپنی تعلیم و صلاحیتوں کو ایک پرامن، سب کو ساتھ لے کر چلنے والے اور ترقی پسند معاشرے کی تعمیر میں صرف کریں، جبکہ بین الاقوامی سطح پر پاکستان کا مثبت تشخص اجاگر کریں۔ پروگرام کی میزبانی سعد اسلم اور محمد باسط نے کی۔ پروگرام میں کیریکٹر بلڈنگ سوسائٹی کے مشیر ڈاکٹر ضیاء الرحمٰن، ڈین فیکلٹی آف لاءپروفیسر ڈاکٹر راؤ عمران حبیب، موٹیویشنل اسپیکر ڈاکٹر جاوید اقبال، اسلامی اسکالر ڈاکٹر عبید الرحمٰن، چیئرمین شعبہ سیاسیات ڈاکٹر شکیل اختر اور سینٹرل ٹریڈرز ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر ڈاکٹر اسرار شاہ نے شرکت کی اور اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا۔ مقررین نے عالمی امن کی اہمیت، پاکستان کی بین الاقوامی ذمہ داریوں، اسلامی تعلیمات کی روشنی میں امن و اخوت کے فروغ، قانون کی بالادستی، انصاف اور نوجوانوں کی کردار سازی پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ پائیدار امن کے لیے باہمی احترام، رواداری، تعمیری مکالمہ، انصاف اور اخلاقی اقدار ناگزیر ہیں، اور نوجوانوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ وہ قومی اتحاد، سماجی ہم آہنگی اور ذمہ دارانہ شہریت کے فروغ میں اپنا کردار ادا کریں۔ طلبہ کے مابین مباحثوں اور سوال و جواب کے سیشنز نے شرکاء کو اپنے خیالات کے اظہار، مختلف نقطہ نظر کو سمجھنے اور قومی و بین الاقوامی مسائل پر تعمیری گفتگو کرنے کا موقع فراہم کیا۔ اس کے علاوہ ایک کوئز مقابلہ بھی منعقد کیا گیا جس میں شرکاء نے حاضرین کی جانب سے پوچھے گئے سوالات کے جوابات دیے، اور درست جواب دینے والوں میں انعامات تقسیم کیے گئے۔ تقریب کا اختتام اس نکتے پر ہوا کہ اس طرح کی تعلیمی اور ہم نصابی سرگرمیاں طلبہ کی ذہنی صلاحیتوں کو نکھارنے، ان کے اخلاقی کردار کو مضبوط بنانے، تنوع کے احترام کو فروغ دینے اور ان میں شہری ذمہ داری کا احساس بیدار کرنے میں اہم کردار ادا کرتی ہیں۔ اس پروگرام نے دی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے اس عزم کو مزید مستحکم کیا کہ وہ ایسے ذمہ دار، روشن خیال اور سماجی شعور رکھنے والے گریجویٹس تیار کرے گی جو قومی ترقی میں حصہ ڈال سکیں، پرامن بقائے باہمی کو فروغ دے سکیں، اور ایک زیادہ پرامن اور ہم آہنگ دنیا کی تعمیر میں پاکستان کے کردار کو آگے بڑھا سکیں۔
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
