An awareness workshop on the topic of highlighting the role of government employees in promoting a corruption-free society was organized by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan and in collaboration with Commissioner Bahawalpur Division in the Committee Room of Deputy Commissioner Office Bahawalpur. The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among government employees and officers regarding the promotion of transparency, accountability, integrity, merit and ethical governance. Serving officers from various government departments and public sector organizations participated in the interactive session. Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, attended as the chief guest. In his address on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that national institutions like NAB are focusing a lot on awareness and prevention of corruption. This is in direct alignment with federal and provincial directives to digitize office processes, eliminate discretion, reduce red tape, and introduce strict merit-based protocols in recruitment, procurement, and service delivery. A corruption-free society cannot be built through legislation alone, but requires public servants who provide practical guidance and restore public confidence in state institutions. The event was attended by officers and dignitaries from various government institutions, including Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor Dr. Soufia Farrukh. Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority Dr. Nayar Mustafa, who attended as a resource person, delivered a special lecture on integrity, ethical values, and the role of public servants in eradicating corruption. He said that government employees are an important part of the state system and their conduct directly impacts public confidence. The trend of corruption can be effectively discouraged by ensuring transparency, merit, law-abidingness, and accountability in the conduct of government affairs. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, while addressing the session through video link, said that creating a corruption-free society is not the responsibility of any single institution but requires collective and continuous efforts. He said that public servants should perform their duties with honesty, impartiality and sense of responsibility so that the public's trust in government institutions is further strengthened. He stressed that along with accountability, awareness, moral training and promotion of positive values are also necessary to eradicate corruption in the society. Government officers can not only promote transparency in institutions through their practical role but can also set an example for the common citizens. The speakers said that corruption affects the country's development, institutional performance and public trust, therefore, responsibility must be demonstrated at all levels to eradicate corruption. He said that by making integrity, transparency and accountability a fundamental part of the government system, the foundation of a strong, effective and corruption-free society can be laid. During the session, the participants expressed their views on various issues related to anti-corruption, ethical values, government responsibilities and transparent governance and also asked questions. The speakers, while answering the questions of the participants, shed light on the responsibilities of public servants and effective measures taken to prevent corruption. At the end of the ceremony, Director NAB Multan Abdul Khaliq and Additional Director NAB Multan Tauseef Hanif, Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Dr. Ayesha Khan thanked all the guests, officers and participants. The participants termed the session useful and important in terms of awareness and said that such programs play an important role in further highlighting the awareness of anti-corruption, integrity and moral responsibility among government employees.

قومی احتساب بیورو (نیب) ملتان کے زیر اہتمام اور کمشنر بہاولپور ڈویژن کے تعاون سے ڈپٹی کمشنر آفس بہاولپور کے کمیٹی روم میں بدعنوانی سے پاک معاشرے کو فروغ دینے میں سرکاری ملازمین کے کردار کو اجاگر کرنا کے موضوع پر آگاہی ورکشاپ کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ ورکشاپ کا مقصد سرکاری ملازمین اور افسران میں شفافیت، جوابدہی، دیانتداری، میرٹ اور اخلاقی طرز حکمرانی کے فروغ کے حوالے سے آگاہی پیدا کرنا تھا۔انٹریکٹو سیشن میں مختلف سرکاری محکموں اور پبلک سیکٹر آرگنائزیشنز سے تعلق رکھنے والے حاضر سروس افسران نے شرکت کی۔ وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران بطور مہمان خصوصی شریک تھے۔اس موقع پر اپنے خطاب میں وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ نیب جیسے قومی ادارے بیداری اور بدعنوانی کی روک تھام پر بہت زیادہ توجہ مرکوز کر رہے ہیں۔ یہ دفتری عمل کو ڈیجیٹائز کرنے، صوابدید کو ختم کرنے، ریڈ ٹیپ کو کم کرنے، اور بھرتی، خریداری اور خدمات کی فراہمی میں سخت میرٹ پر مبنی پروٹوکول متعارف کرانے کے لیے وفاقی اور صوبائی ہدایات کے ساتھ براہ راست ہم آہنگ ہے۔ بدعنوانی سے پاک معاشرہ صرف قانون سازی کے ذریعے نہیں بنایا جا سکتا بلکہ اس کے لیے ایسے عوامی ملازمین کی ضرورت ہے جو عملی رہنمائی کریں اور ریاستی اداروں پر عوام کا اعتماد بحال کریں۔ اس موقع پر پرنسپل قائداعظم میڈیکل کالج پروفیسر ڈاکٹر صوفیہ فروخ سمیت مختلف سرکاری اداروں کے افسران اور معزز شخصیات بھی موجود تھیں ۔ ڈائریکٹر جنرل پارکس اینڈ ہارٹیکلچر اتھارٹی ڈاکٹر نیر مصطفی نے بطور ریسورس پرسن شرکت کی اور دیانتداری، اخلاقی اقدار اور کرپشن کے خاتمے میں پبلک سرونٹس کے کردار کے موضوع پر خصوصی لیکچر دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سرکاری ملازمین ریاستی نظام کا اہم حصہ ہیں اور ان کے طرز عمل کا براہ راست اثر عوام کے اعتماد پر پڑتا ہے۔ سرکاری امور کی انجام دہی میں شفافیت، میرٹ، قانون کی پاسداری اور جوابدہی کو یقینی بنا کر بدعنوانی کے رجحان کی مؤثر انداز میں حوصلہ شکنی کی جاسکتی ہے۔ کمشنر بہاولپور ڈویژن عرفان علی کاٹھیا نے ویڈیو لنک کے ذریعے سیشن سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بدعنوانی سے پاک معاشرے کی تشکیل کسی ایک ادارے کی ذمہ داری نہیں بلکہ اس کے لیے اجتماعی اور مسلسل کوششوں کی ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پبلک سرونٹس کو اپنے فرائض منصبی ایمانداری، غیرجانبداری اور احساس ذمہ داری کے ساتھ انجام دینے چاہئیں تاکہ عوام کا سرکاری اداروں پر اعتماد مزید مضبوط ہو۔انہوں نے اس امر پر زور دیا کہ معاشرے میں کرپشن کے خاتمے کے لیے احتساب کے ساتھ ساتھ آگاہی، اخلاقی تربیت اور مثبت اقدار کا فروغ بھی ضروری ہے۔ سرکاری افسران اپنے عملی کردار کے ذریعے نہ صرف اداروں میں شفافیت کو فروغ دے سکتے ہیں بلکہ عام شہریوں کے لیے بھی مثال قائم کرسکتے ہیں ۔مقررین نے کہا کہ کرپشن ملکی ترقی، ادارہ جاتی کارکردگی اور عوامی اعتماد کو متاثر کرتی ہے، اس لیے بدعنوانی کے خاتمے کے لیے ہر سطح پر ذمہ داری کا مظاہرہ کرنا ہوگا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ دیانتداری، شفافیت اور جوابدہی کو سرکاری نظام کا بنیادی حصہ بنا کر ایک مضبوط، مؤثر اور کرپشن سے پاک معاشرے کی بنیاد رکھی جاسکتی ہے۔سیشن کے دوران شرکاء نے انسدادِ بدعنوانی، اخلاقی اقدار، سرکاری ذمہ داریوں اور شفاف طرز حکمرانی سے متعلق مختلف امور پر اظہار خیال کیا اور سوالات بھی کیے۔ مقررین نے شرکاء کے سوالات کے جوابات دیتے ہوئے پبلک سرونٹس کی ذمہ داریوں اور کرپشن کی روک تھام کے لیے اختیار کیے جانے والے مؤثر اقدامات پر روشنی ڈالی۔تقریب کے اختتام پر ڈائریکٹر نیب ملتان عبدالخالق اور ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر نیب ملتان توصیف حنیف، ایڈیشنل ڈپٹی کمشنر میونسپل سروسز ڈاکٹر عائشہ خان نے تمام مہمانوں ، افسران اور شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ شرکاء نے سیشن کو مفید اور آگاہی کے حوالے سے اہم قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایسے پروگرام سرکاری ملازمین میں انسدادِ بدعنوانی کے شعور، دیانتداری اور اخلاقی ذمہ داری کے احساس کو مزید اجاگر کرنے میں اہم کردار ادا کرتے ہیں ۔
