A special seminar was held by the Medical and Health Division, IUB, on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day 2025.

A special seminar was organized by the Medical and Health Division of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Dr. Syed Tanveer Hussain, Director Health Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Qazi Masroor Ali, former Head of Department, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur, Dr. Muhammad Usman Cheema, Chief Medical Officer, other faculty members and employees participated in the seminar. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran said that health is a thousand blessings and health should actually be the first priority of every human being. It is on the basis of health that a person earns his livelihood. Therefore, a person can do all the work only if he is healthy. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is already working towards a hepatitis-free campus and all possible steps are being taken to ensure the health of all employees and protect them from hepatitis. Prof. Dr. Qazi Masroor Ali emphasized on changing social behavior to prevent and control the spread of hepatitis. He said that we should all live our lives according to the principles of health so that hepatitis and liver diseases can be avoided. There are facilities for the treatment of hepatitis at the national level. For which vaccines, safe injections, regular medical check-ups are necessary. Dr. Tanveer Hussain said that according to the World Health Organization, Pakistan and Nigeria are the most affected countries in the world and 12 million people in Pakistan are affected by hepatitis B and C. Dr. Muhammad Usman Cheema said that there is a hepatitis clinic at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur where teachers, employees and students are screened and treated and the hepatitis free campaign has been going on regularly since 2020. On this occasion, Principal Medical Officer Dr. Maleeha Arif gave a special presentation on the prevention and causes of hepatitis. Dr. Saba Tahir, Women Medical Officer, performed the duties as master of the ceremony.

بہاولپور (پ ر) ورلڈ ہیپاٹائٹس ڈے کے موقع پر میڈیکل اینڈ ہیلتھ ڈویژن اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام خصوصی سیمینار منعقد ہوا۔ سیمینار میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران ، ڈاکٹر سید تنویر حسین ڈائریکٹر ہیلتھ بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قاضی مسرور علی سابق ہیڈ آف ڈیپارٹمنٹ قائداعظم میڈیکل کالج بہاولپور، ڈاکٹر محمد عثمان چیمہ چیف میڈیکل آفیسر ، دیگر فیکلٹی ممبران اور ملازمین شریک ہوئے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے کہا کہ تندرستی ہزار نعمت ہے اور صحت ہی دراصل ہر انسان کی پہلی ترجیح ہونی چاہیے۔ صحت کے بل پر ہی انسان حصول رزق سرانجام دیتا ہے۔ لہذا انسان تندرست ہے تو ہی تمام کام سرانجام دے سکتا ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ہیپاٹائٹس فری کیمپس کے سلسلے میں پہلے سے ہی کام کررہی ہے اور تمام ملازمین کی صحت اور انہیں ہیپاٹائٹس سے بچانے کے لیے ہر ممکن اقدام کیے جارہے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قاضی مسرور علی نے ہیپاٹائٹس کے پھیلاؤ اور روک تھام کے لیے سماجی رویےمیں تبدیلی پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سب کو اپنی زندگی حصول صحت کے اصولوں کے مطابق گزارنی چاہیے تاکہ ہیپاٹائٹس اور لیور کے موذی مرض سے بچا جا سکے۔ قومی سطح پر ہیپاٹائٹس کے علاج کے لیے سہولیات موجود ہیں۔ جس کے لیے ویکسین، محفوظ انجکشن ، باقاعدہ میڈیکل چیک اپ ضروری ہے۔ ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین نے کہا کہ ورلڈ ہیلتھ آرگنائزیشن کےمطابق پاکستان اور نائجیرہ دنیا میں سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہیں اور پاکستان میں 12 ملین لوگ ہیپاٹائٹس بی اور سی سے متاثر ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر محمدعثمان چیمہ نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں ہیپاٹائٹس کلینک موجود ہے جہاں اساتذہ ، ملازمین اور طلباو طالبات کی اسکریننگ اور علاج کیا جاتا ہے اور 2020 سے ہیپاٹائٹس فری مہم باقاعدگی سے جاری ہے۔ اس موقع پر پرنسپل میڈیکل آفیسر ڈاکٹر ملیحہ عارف نے ہیپاٹائٹس کی روک تھام اور وجوہات پر خصوصی پریزنٹیشن دی۔ ڈاکٹر صباء طاہر ویمن میڈیکل آفیسر نے نظامت کے فرائض سرانجام دیئے۔
