A Farmers Day seminar organized by the Department of Soil Sciences, IUB

A Farmers Day seminar on the importance of iron for crops and human health was organized by the Department of Soil Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, in Mouza Bhiyani, Union Council Sheikhwahan, Tehsil Khairpur Tamiwali, District Bahawalpur. More than 200 farmers actively participated in the national level event and engaged in discussions on the importance of iron in crop production and human nutrition. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, briefed the participants about the importance of iron for crops and human health. He discussed its role in improving crop yield and quality and emphasized its significance for maintaining good human health. Dr. Hafiz Tanvir Ahmad discussed the methods of iron application, deficiency symptoms in crops, and management practices to improve soil fertility and crop performance. The event was also attended by Dr. Abubakar Dar and Dr. Zafar Iqbal, who shared their valuable insights and appreciated the research team’s efforts to promote soil fertility and human health through efficient iron management in agriculture. The formulated product “Bio-Activated Iron Enriched Compost” was also distributed among farmers during the event to promote the adoption of innovative and sustainable nutrient management practices. The Farmers Day Seminar was organized under NRPU-HEC Project No. 20-15551 by Dr. Azhar Hussain, Principal Investigator of the project and Associate Professor at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

بہاولپور (پ ر) شعبہ سوائل سائنسز فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام فصلوں اور انسانی صحت کے لیے آئرن کی اہمیت کے موضوع پر زرعی سیمینار موضع بھیانی، یونین کونسل شیخواہن، تحصیل خیرپور ٹامیوالی ضلع بہاولپور میں منعقد ہوا۔ اس قومی سطح کے پروگرام میں 200 سے زائد کسانوں نے بھرپور شرکت کی اور فصلوں کی پیداوار اور انسانی غذائیت میں آئرن کی اہمیت پر مفید گفتگو کی۔ ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین، ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر، شعبہ سوائل سائنس، فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے شرکاء کو فصلوں اور انسانی صحت کے لیے آئرن کی اہمیت سے آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ آئرن فصلوں کی پیداوار اور معیار کو بہتر بنانے میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرتا ہے اور انسانی صحت کے لیے بھی انتہائی ضروری ہے۔ ڈاکٹر حافظ تنویر احمد نے آئرن کے استعمال کے طریقے، اس کی کمی کی علامات، اور بہتر نظم و نسق کے طریقہ کار پر تفصیل سے روشنی ڈالی تاکہ زمین کی زرخیزی اور فصلوں کی کارکردگی میں بہتری لائی جا سکے۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر ابوبکر ڈار اور ڈاکٹر ظفر اقبال نے بھی شرکت کی، جنہوں نے تحقیقی ٹیم کی کاوشوں کو سراہا اور فصلوں و انسانی صحت کے فروغ کے لیے آئرن کے مؤثر استعمال کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔تقریب کے دوران تیار کردہ مصنوعہ بایو ایکٹیویٹڈ آئرن اینرچڈ کمپوسٹ بھی کسانوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا تاکہ پائیدار اور جدید غذائی انتظامی طریقوں کو فروغ دیا جا سکے۔ یہ زرعی سیمینار NRPU-HEC پروجیکٹ نمبر 20-15551 کے تحت ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین، پرنسپل انویسٹی گیٹر اور ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی زیرِ نگرانی منعقد کیا گیا۔
