The spokesperson of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that on June 5, a news item was published in the daily Jang regarding the non-provision of information related to various affairs of the university by Transparency International Pakistan to a citizen. The fact is that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, being a large public sector university, fully implements the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013. In this regard, the Public Information Officers appointed by the university regularly deal with these requests and carry out the affairs as per the guidelines given by the Punjab Information Commission. The action taken by the university regarding the request made by the citizen in the said news item is contrary to the facts. The university has been responding to the requests sent to the said citizen regularly since October 25, 2024. Among them, on October 28, 2024, the details of the financial expenditure of the university for 2023-24, all the ledgers and photocopies of repair and maintenance were sent via email during the period of November and December 2024. Despite receiving all these records, the citizen again applied to send the same records in a new order. On which the records were again sent on December 19, 2024 through PDF, WhatsApp and email. Similarly, on April 14, 2025, all the details of repair and maintenance for the financial year 2020-21 were provided with photocopies. The said citizen again asked for the same data for the third time in terms of location of the repair work, engineering staff, and bank statement. On this, the Public Information Officer was replied by the Treasurer that the relevant records have been sent repeatedly as per the said order. In order to save further costs and time, the complainant should be invited to the university to come and see and obtain all the records himself. This reply was sent on 15 May 2025. The last correspondence with the said citizen was on 7 May 2026. On 7 May 2026, the citizen was given a point-by-point reply to his queries, which included the Chancellor’s decisions, the score list of various selection committees and financial records. The university has so far provided the said citizen with all the requested records and details for the financial years 2020-21, 2023-24 and 2024-25 thrice in the order requested by him. The Public Information Officer has provided all the requested records in its written reply to Transparency International Pakistan. This shows that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur provided the said records under the Right to Information Act and did not conceal anything. Furthermore, the institution reserves the right to take legal action for misrepresentation

ترجمان اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کہا ہے کہ 5 جون کو روزنامہ جنگ میں ٹرانسپیرنسی انٹرنیشنل پاکستان کی جانب سے ایک شہری کو یونیورسٹی کے مختلف امور سے متعلق معلومات فراہم نہ کرنےسے متعلق ایک خبر شائع کی گئی ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ایک بڑی پبلک سیکٹر یونیورسٹی ہونے کے ناطے دی پنجاب ٹرانسپرنسی اینڈ رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن ایکٹ 2013 پر پوری طرح عملدرآمد کرتی ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے مقرر کیے گئے پبلک انفارمیشن آفیسر باقاعدگی سے ان درخواستوں کو نمٹاتے ہیں اور پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن کی دی گئی گائیڈ لائن کے مطابق امور سرانجام دیتے ہیں۔ مذکورہ خبر میں شہری کی طر ف دی گئی درخواست سے متعلق یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے کی گئی کاروائی کو حقائق کے برخلاف بیان کیا گیا ہے۔ یونیورسٹی مذکورہ شہری کو 25 اکتوبر 2024 سے باقاعدگی سے بھیجی گئی درخواستوں پر جواب دے رہی ہے۔ ان میں 28 اکتوبر 2024 کو 2023-24 کے یونیورسٹی کے مالی اخراجات کی تفصیل ریپئر اینڈ مینٹینس کے تمام لیجرزاور فوٹو کاپیاں بذریعہ ای میل نومبر اور دسمبر 2024 کے دورانیے میں بھیجے گئے۔ یہ تمام ریکارڈ حاصل کرنے کے باوجود شہری نے دوبارہ درخواست دے کر اسی ریکارڈ کو نئی ترتیب سے بھیجنے کے لیے کہا۔ جس پر 19 دسمبر 2024 کو دوبارہ پی ڈی ایف، واٹس ایپ اور ای میل کے ذریعے ریکارڈ بھیجا گیا۔ اسی طرح 14 اپریل 2025 کو مالیاتی سال 2020-21 کی تمام ترتفصیلات برائے ریپئر اینڈ مینٹینس فوٹو کاپیاں مہیا کی گئیں۔ مذکورہ شہری نے دوبارہ مرمتی کام کا محل وقوع انجینئرنگ سٹاف، اور بینک سٹیٹمنٹ کے لحاظ سے یہی ڈیٹا تیسری بار مانگا۔ اس پر خزانہ دار کی جانب سے پبلک انفارمیشن آفیسر کو جواب دیا گیا کہ متعلقہ ریکارڈ بار بار کہی گئی ترتیب کےمطابق بھیجا جاچکا ہے۔ مزید اخراجات اور وقت کو بچانے کے لیے شکایت کنندہ کو یونیورسٹی میں دعوت دی جائے کہ وہ خود آکر تمام ریکارڈ دیکھ لے اور حاصل کرلے۔ یہ جواب 15 مئی 2025 کو بھیجا گیا۔ مذکورہ شہری سے آخری بار خط و کتابت 7 مئی 2026 کو ہوئی۔ 7 مئی 2026 کو شہری کو اس کے سوالات کے نقطہ وار جواب دیئے گئے جس میں چانسلر کے فیصلے مختلف سلیکشن کمیٹی کی سکور لسٹ اور فنانشل ریکارڈ شامل ہے۔ یونیورسٹی اب تک مذکورہ شہری کو مالیاتی سال 2020-21، 2023-24 اور 2024-25 کے مانگے گئے تمام ریکارڈ اور تفصیلات تین مرتبہ اس کی  مانگی گئی ترتیب کے مطابق دے چکی ہے۔ پبلک انفارمیشن آفیسر کی طرف سے ٹرانسپرنسی انٹرنیشنل پاکستان کو اپنے دیئے گئےتحریری جواب میں تمام بھیجا گیا ریکارڈ فراہم کردیا گیا ہے۔ جس سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے مذکورہ ریکارڈ رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن ایکٹ کے تحت فراہم کیا اور کوئی چیز نہیں چھپائی۔ مزید براں ادارہ غلط بیانی پر قانونی کاروائی کا حق محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔
