VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran participated in the special program Flood and Disaster Management of PTV Multan

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, participated in the special program Flood and Disaster Management of Pakistan Television Multan. Speaking in the program, the Vice Chancellor said that integrated strategy and scientific planning are the need of the hour to deal with challenges like natural disasters, especially floods. He said that the losses of natural disasters can be minimized through modern research, improvement of infrastructure and public awareness campaigns. Emphasizing the role of the media, the Vice Chancellor said that the media plays a key role in providing immediate and accurate information to the public as well as providing safety measures and guidance. He said that the media and educational institutions should work together to create awareness among the public so that precious lives and properties can be protected in any emergency situation. He was accompanied by Dr. Malik Adnan, Chairman Department of Media and Communication Studies, Dr. Riaz Sindhar, President ASA IUB, General Manager PTV Multan Shafqat Malik, water affairs expert, senior politician and analyst Malik Haider Usman.

بہاولپور (پ ر) پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن ملتان کے خصوصی پروگرام سیلاب اور ڈیزاسٹر مینجمنٹ میں شرکت کی۔ پروگرام میں گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ قدرتی آفات خصوصاً سیلاب جیسے چیلنجز سے نمٹنے کے لیے مربوط حکمت عملی اور سائنسی منصوبہ بندی وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ جدید تحقیق، انفراسٹرکچر کی بہتری اور عوامی آگاہی مہم کے ذریعے قدرتی آفات کے نقصانات کو کم سے کم کیا جاسکتا ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے میڈیا کے کردار پر زور دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ میڈیا عوام کو فوری اور درست معلومات فراہم کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ حفاظتی اقدامات اور رہنمائی دینے میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ میڈیا اور تعلیمی ادارے مل کر عوام میں شعور بیدار کریں تاکہ کسی بھی ہنگامی صورتحال میں قیمتی جانوں اور املاک کو محفوظ بنایا جاسکے۔ اس پروگرام  میں ان کے ساتھ ڈاکٹر ملک عدنان چیئرمین ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف میڈیا اینڈ کمیونییکشن اسٹڈیز، ڈاکٹر ریاض سندھڑ  صدر اے ایس اے آئی یو بی، جنرل مینجر پی ٹی وی ملتان شفقت ملک، ماہر آبی امور سینئر سیاستدان اور تجزیہ کار ملک حیدر عثمان بھی موجود تھے۔
