The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Science and Technology Society organized an awareness walk on to mark the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, highlighting the importance of disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, and community resilience. The walk was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, who was accompanied by Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Advisor IUB STS Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad, distinguished faculty members, and students. The initiative aimed to promote awareness about disaster risks and emphasize the role of scientific knowledge, preparedness, and collective responsibility in minimizing the impact of natural and human-induced disasters. On the occasion, Maryam Sajid, President of IUB STS, briefed the Vice Chancellor and participants on the significance of disaster awareness and the need to develop a culture of preparedness and shared responsibility within the community. The walk reflected the university’s commitment to promoting scientific understanding, responsible citizenship, and community engagement for a safer and more resilient society.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی سوسائٹی نے آفات کے خطرات میں کمی کے عالمی دن کے موقع پر ایک آگاہی واک کا اہتمام کیا۔ اس ایونٹ کا مقصد آفات سے نمٹنے کی تیاری خطرات کو کم کرنے اور کمیونٹی کی قوتِ مدافعت کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنا تھا۔ اس واک کی قیادت وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے کی جن کے ہمراہ ڈائریکٹر اسٹوڈنٹ افیئرز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا ایڈوائزر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد ارشد اساتذہ اور طلبا وطالبات بھی موجود تھے۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد آفات کے خطرات کے بارے میں آگاہی کو فروغ دینا اور قدرتی و انسانی ساختہ آفات کے اثرات کو کم کرنے میں سائنسی علم، تیاری اور اجتماعی ذمہ داری کے کردار پر زور دینا تھا۔ اس موقع پر، کی صدر مریم ساجد نے وائس چانسلر اور شرکاء کو آفات سے متعلق آگاہی کی اہمیت اور کمیونٹی میں تیاری اور مشترکہ ذمہ داری کے کلچر کو فروغ دینے کی ضرورت کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی۔ یہ واک ایک محفوظ اور زیادہ مستحکم معاشرے کے قیام کے لیے سائنسی فہم ذمہ دارانہ شہریت اور کمیونٹی کی شمولیت کو فروغ دینے کے حوالے سے یونیورسٹی کے عزم کی عکاس تھی۔
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
