IUB organized a one-day international hybrid conference on emerging trends in particle physics.

The Department of Particle Physics, Institute of Physics, Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a one-day international hybrid conference titled Emerging Trends in Particle Physics. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, in his message to the participants, said that Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a world-class university. The teachers of the Institute of Physics are engaged in high-level teaching and research in the field of physics. This conference brought together domestic and foreign researchers and experts on one platform and discussed the recent and modern aspects of particle physics and its future prospects. Particle physics is a field that is very important for understanding the fundamental structure of matter, i.e. the known universe including all galaxies, stars and the forces that form the universe. Along with this, this field is also engaged in the search for still unknown universes such as dark matter and dark energy. Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain, Director, Institute of Physics, welcomed the experts associated with particle physics and said that this scientific gathering proved to be an important step towards the promotion of particle physics in Pakistan. Under the dynamic leadership of the conference focal person Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Baloch, the department has continuously adopted a strategy to make it a prominent research center in Pakistan. Similarly, the members of the organizing committee Dr. Shoaib, Dr. Rauf Athar and Dr. Muhammad Gul demonstrated professionalism and teamwork and played an important role in the successful and effective organization of the event. Dr. Shama Abu Zaid, a prominent researcher from Pakistan and abroad, was an international speaker associated with the CMS experiment at the CERN laboratory. He gave a reasoned discussion on theoretical progress beyond the Standard Model and highlighted the importance of cooperation in particle physics at the global level. Other speakers included Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed NCP Islamabad, Dr. Jamila Bashir Butt VU Islamabad, Dr. Faisal Akram CHEP Lahore, Dr. Muhammad Jamil Aslam Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Dr. Ijaz Ahmed FUUST Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Baloch Islamia University Bahawalpur, Dr. Rauf Athar and Dr. Muhammad Gul. Several important topics were discussed during the conference, including collider physics, quantum field theory, supersymmetry, advanced detector technologies, and advanced simulation techniques. At the closing ceremony of the conference, Dean of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, appreciated the efforts of the organizers.

انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے شعبہ پارٹیکل فزکس نے ایک روزہ بین الاقوامی ہائبرڈ کانفرنس بعنوان پارٹیکل فزکس میں ابھرتے ہوئے رجحانات کا انعقاد کیا۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے شرکاء کے نام اپنے پیغام میں کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور عالمی سطح کی یونیورسٹی ہے۔ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس کے اساتذہ فزکس کے میدان میں اعلیٰ درجے کی تدریس و تحقیق میں مصروف عمل ہیں۔ اس کانفرنس نے ملکی و غیر ملکی محققین اور ماہرین کو ایک پلیٹ فارم پر اکٹھا کیا اور پارٹیکل فزکس کے حالیہ جدید پہلوؤں اور مستقبل کے امکانات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ پارٹیکل فزکس ایک ایسا شعبہ ہے جو مادے کی بنیادی ساخت یعنی معلوم کائنات بشمول تمام کہکشاؤں ستاروں اور کائنات کو تشکیل دینے والی قوتوں کو سمجھنے کے لیے نہایت اہم ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ یہ شعبہ ابھی تک نامعلوم کائنات جیسے کہ ڈارک میٹر اور ڈارک انرجی کی تلاش میں بھی مصروفِ عمل ہے۔ پروفیسر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر الطاف حسین ڈائریکٹر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس نے پارٹیکل فزکس سے وابستہ ماہرین کو خوش آمدید کہتے ہوئے اس علمی اجتماع کو پاکستان میں پارٹیکل فزکس کے فروغ کی جانب ایک اہم قدم ثابت ہوا۔کانفرنس فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر محمد شعیب بلوچ کی متحرک قیادت میں شعبے کو پاکستان میں ایک نمایاں تحقیقی مرکز بنانے کے لیے مسلسل حکمت عملی اپنائی ہوئی ہے۔اسی طرح تنظیمی کمیٹی کے ارکان ڈاکٹر شعیب، ڈاکٹر رؤف اطہراور ڈاکٹر محمد گل نے پیشہ ورانہ مہارت اور ٹیم ورک کا مظاہرہ کیا اور تقریب کی کامیاب اور مؤثر تنظیم میں اہم کردار ادا کیا۔ کانفرنس میں پاکستان اور بیرون ملک سے آئے ہوئے ممتاز محققین ڈاکٹر شمع ابوزید CERN لیبارٹری میں CMS تجربے سے وابستہ بین الاقوامی اسپیکر تھیں۔ انہوں نے سٹینڈرڈ ماڈل سے آگے نظریاتی پیش رفت پر مدلل گفتگو کی اور عالمی سطح پر پارٹیکل فزکس میں تعاون کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا۔ دیگر مقررین میں ڈاکٹر اشفاق احمد این سی پی اسلام آباد، ڈاکٹر جمیلہ بشیر بٹ وی یو اسلام آباد، ڈاکٹر فیصل اکرم CHEP لاہور، ڈاکٹر محمد جمیل اسلم قائداعظم یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد، ڈاکٹر اعجاز احمد FUUST اسلام آباد، ڈاکٹر محمد شعیب بلوچ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، ڈاکٹر رؤف اطہر اور ڈاکٹر محمد گل شامل تھے۔کانفرنس کے دوران کئی اہم موضوعات پر گفتگو ہوئی جن میں کولائیڈر فزکس، کوانٹم فیلڈ تھیوری، سپرسمیٹری، جدید ڈیٹیکٹر ٹیکنالوجیز، اور جدید سمولیشن تکنیکیں شامل تھیں۔ کانفرنس کی اختتامی تقریب میں فیکلٹی آف فزیکل اینڈ میتھمیٹیکل سائنسز کے ڈین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام مصطفی نے منتظمین کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔
