Evaluation team from the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) visited the IUB

The Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur recently hosted an Interim Visit on 16th April 2026 by a evaluation team from the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP). The delegation included  Ar. Sohail Anwer Saeed (Sohail Saeed & Associates) from Lahore,  Ar. Tariq Mehmood (HoD, USP Multan), and Ar. Faizan Ali Khan (Assistant Professor, NUST-Islamabad ) and Mr. Wasif Hassan (Deputy Registrar PCATP ).
During the visit, the team hold serries of meetings with the Prof.  Dr.  Muhamad Kamran (Worthy Vice Chancellor), Prof Dr. Mohammad Amajd (Dean Faculty of Engineering), Jam Ayaz Mahmood (Chairman Dept of Architecture) and all faculty members of Dept to discuss academic structure and departmental progress. They also inspected key facilities including design studios, labs, workshops, and the library. A significant part of the evaluation focused on the detailed review of student portfolios, where the team assessed design development, conceptual clarity, graphical representation, and technical resolution across different academic levels. The assessment criteria were carefully examined to ensure transparency, consistency, and alignment with academic standards. The team also observed ongoing studio activities, gaining insight into the teaching methodologies, student engagement, and the overall studio culture.
Additionally, the members interacted with students to gather feedback regarding departmental facilities and academic experience. Overall, the team expressed satisfaction with the department’s performance, appreciating the faculty’s dedication and acknowledging the department’s continuous efforts toward maintaining and improving the quality of architectural education. The said visit is essential part of acrediation process for Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch)  program.

شعبہ آرکیٹیکچر، فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور نے حال ہی میں پاکستان کونسل آف آرکیٹیکٹس اینڈ ٹاؤن پلانرز کی ایک تشخیصی ٹیم کے ذریعے ایک دورے کی میزبانی کی۔ وفد میں اے آر  سہیل انور سعید سہیل سعید اینڈ ایسوسی ایٹس لاہور، اے آر طارق محمود ہیڈ آف ڈیپارٹمنٹ یونیورسٹی آف سدرن پنجاب ملتان  اور اے آر فیضان علی خان اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر، نسٹ یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد اور واصف حسن ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پاکستان کونسل آف آرکیٹیکٹس اینڈ ٹاؤن پلانرز شامل تھے۔ دورے کے دوران، ٹیم نےوائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد امجد ڈین فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ، جام ایاز محمود چیئرمین ڈپارٹمنٹ آف آرکیٹیکچر اور شعبہ کے تمام فیکلٹی ممبران سے تعلیمی ڈھانچے اور شعبہ کی پیش رفت پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ انہوں نے ڈیزائن اسٹوڈیوز، لیبز، ورکشاپس اور لائبریری سمیت اہم سہولیات کا بھی معائنہ کیا۔ تشخیص کا ایک اہم حصہ طلباءوطالبات کے شعبے کے تفصیلی جائزے پر مرکوز تھا، جہاں ٹیم نے مختلف تعلیمی سطحوں پر ڈیزائن کی ترقی، تصوراتی وضاحت، گرافیکل نمائندگی، اور تکنیکی حل کا جائزہ لیا۔ شفافیت، مستقل مزاجی، اور تعلیمی معیارات کے ساتھ ہم آہنگی کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے تشخیص کے معیار کا بغور جائزہ لیا گیا۔ ٹیم نے اسٹوڈیو کی جاری سرگرمیوں کا بھی مشاہدہ کیا، تدریسی طریقہ کار، طلباء کی مصروفیت، اور مجموعی اسٹوڈیو کلچر کے بارے میں بصیرت حاصل کی۔ مزید برآں، اراکین نے طلباء کے ساتھ بات چیت کی تاکہ شعبے  میں موجود سہولیات اور تعلیمی تجربے کے بارے میں رائے حاصل کی جاسکے۔  مجموعی طور پر، ٹیم نے شعبہ کی کارکردگی پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا، فیکلٹی کی لگن کو سراہتے ہوئے اور آرکیٹیکچرل تعلیم کے معیار کو برقرار رکھنے اور بہتر بنانے کے لیے شعبےکی مسلسل کوششوں کو سراہا۔ مذکورہ دورہ بیچلر ان آرکیٹیکچر پروگرام کے لیے ایکریڈییشن کے عمل کا لازمی حصہ ہے۔
