About Us
The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology is a core academic and research unit of the Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), established in 2006. The Department contributes to the advancement of veterinary and biomedical sciences through excellence in education, research and professional training in pharmacology, toxicology and related disciplines. The dynamic and qualified Ph.D. faculty of the department is actively involved in providing outcome-based education to undergraduate and postgraduate students across veterinary, biomedical and health sciences programs at IUB. Furthermore, it is also involved in research activities related with drug discovery and development, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, antimicrobial therapy and resistance, pharmacovigilance, toxicological evaluation, and public health. Supported by advanced laboratories and multidisciplinary collaborations, the Department promotes hands on training and evidence based approaches to train the students. Through research driven and outcome based learning, the Department is committed to develop scientifically skilled and globally competitive professionals who contribute to animal, human, and environmental health.
