About Us

Department of Epidemiology and Public Health was established in June 2020. The strengthening of the infrastructure & laboratories is in progress.

Our goals are to provide high quality education in the field of epidemiology and public health to train and produce top level Epidemiologists, to initiate high quality research in the field of epidemiology, to use applied epidemiological tools and methods to investigate potential factors of diseases and to disseminate quality research outcomes and valuable information about control and prevention to concern quarters for the formulation of public health policy and disease control strategies. Keeping in view the location of the university in Bahawalpur division having the Cholistan desert, the main focus of the department is to improve the health status of animals and humans of the Cholistan desert areas.

Mission Statement

The mission of Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is to improve the health of animals and human through education and training of the Epidemiologists and by enhancing the multidisciplinary research related to prevention and control of diseases of major public health concern.

Vision Statement

The vision is to be a center of excellence in epidemiology and public health education, research, and practice, promoting disease prevention and population health through evidence-based and One Health approaches.
